In the current Senior Bowl, the players that solidify themselves as first rounders opt out after the practice week. All the guys that play are playing in front of scouts are were graded as round 2 or below. I think the SEC would have enough draft eligible guys to field 2 teams. But then again, maybe we don’t. I’d need to crunch numbers.

Oh ok, well that sounds like you had it pretty thought out then. Good idea.

The idea stems if we can recreate that game specifically for our conference and get paid handsomely to run it.

I've been advocating that non-CFP bowl games be moved to week after spring practice us complete.

Or just cut the regular season to 10 games, eliminate conference championship games and institute a 64 team playoff. First/second round games are hosted by higher seeded teams. Final 16 will be hosted by the 15 most important bowl games.
Obviously that would be Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Sugar, Orange, Peach and then the other 9 games could be a combination of the existing bowl games such as the Sun, Music City, Motor City, Las Vegas, Holiday, Liberty, Texas, and couple of others to fill out the allotment.

We could have November/December madness. The ratings would be awesome and the selection show would be must see TV.

like it. Having bowl games with 30% opt outs will end up being dangerous….oh and boring.

If you watched the “worthless” bowl games this season, you would have noticed that opt outs were less than they have been in a long time. Even when they do happen, you get to watch the next guy step up. How can you complain about free football?

I want to add the Citrus and Music City to the NY6, and I would be fine with scrapping the rest of the bowls. That being said, an all-star game and NFL combine for the conference would be welcome additions.

It’s improbable, not impossible. But no one, especially our conference, wants to disrupt the status quo.

That's what college football is now... they're getting paid, so they're professionals.
...... I'll bet some of the minor league baseball players wish they'd be paid as well.......

Having bowl games at the beginning of the season based on a team’s record from previous year would help with the opt outs. You would also have good week 1 or week 0 matchups.

The ncaa should have an all star game between the sec and the rest. Pay the winners 20K a piece
