Do you really need "weeks" to prep for a 2000 year old offense that kids have been running since pop Warner?

Athletes and discipline. That's all you need and Bama/LSU have plenty of that.

and maybe Georgia/Aub

Not a chance with this defense. TOP would be brutal in their favor.

We can't stop a wall.

But seriously though, GaTech does run it out of spread formations sometimes, which is interesting. If they try to stick to a power option game against us using the flexbone or formations with multiple wingbacks, I think we would have trouble with them. However, if they spread it wide, we do tend to stay disciplined and could probably do well.

GT would absolutely rape our defense. Probably around 500 rushing yards. There would be no need to pass the ball even once.

It's much more easily defended when you have 4 weeks to plan for it.

We're not talking about GT's D or LSU's O.

Probably not. AU doesn't ever do well against option teams or shifty speed backs. We do have some success against between the tackles down hill runners.

And then when it came time to switch focus on your schemes for the game, you watched these tapes... didn't you?

GaTech does run it out of spread formations

don't they run the midline? the midline form of option is always in the spread. my offensive coordinator in high school coached with GA Techs coach. We ran it all no-huddle and spread. I just haven't watched GA Tech this year.

State had to play them in 08-09. With our decent defense they shredded us pretty good but we played them closely in 09. I never wanted to see us play against it again.

They would probably set numerous first half rushing records against us

aTm first half + arky second half = LSU or Bama.
