Nah, not a year after taking Clausen.

I think that Cam will actually help himself in the combine because of his measurables and athletic ability. Can you imagine the jaws drop if he runs a sub 4.5 40? That being said, if Carolina wants a QB, then they need to trade down. None of the QB's this year warrant a top 5 pick.

That overall No. 1 pick is not as easy to trade as most people think. Only when there is a single player who is CLEARLY over and above every other player in the draft is the overall No. 1 a hot, hot commodity.

I think he will go to the Redskin or San Fransico where he will be fricked up beyond repair by the time his contract is up. The Redskins ruin careers.

Any chance he takes his talents to Miami?

I'll go ahead and say Mallett and Gabbert will look superior to Newton at the Combine due to his atrocious footwork and the offensive style he played in.

Miami could be possible but they are at #15 and I dont think Cam makes it past 10 before somebody gets him. Too good of a player unless he messes up during the combines.

They already have a project QB in Clausen, so I don't see them taking Newton. Carolina will either trade down to get a DL/OL. If they use the #1 pick I don't see it being wasted on Newton.

I honestly want Miami to take him. They won't, even though they need a QB badly. They are short term focused right now as the coaching staff has to win next year and make the playoffs (they won't).
Unfortunately, Miami will probably take Ingram which would be a huge mistake. If you take a RB that high when you have so many other needs, he better be a special talent. Ingram is a pretty good back, but nothing special.

You don't take a project at best QB with the 1st overall pick. That is just retarded.
But that was Al Davis...and he may possibly be classified as retarded.

I can see him in black & white stripes.

Why the hell would he want to be a referee?

If I were an NFL GM I would take my chances on Mallet as the number one overall. Dude has a cannon, and is obviously football smart to have learned Petrino's playbook.
Just don't expect a guy who runs sub day long 40s and make sure you keep the skanks and drugs away and he'll do fine.
