Could you AU guys see Cam in Carolina blue?

- he would put butts in the seats
- he has an infectious personality if he were to be the face of the franchise
- if they really wanna go quarterback w/ that first pick, i mean there's no Luck out there. So all he's gotta beat out is Mallett and Gabbert.

Talk I've heard is that Carolina would go defense and pick someone like Fairley or PP7.

Which is why they won't go QB. They will take Fairley or Bowers. Maybe AJ Green, but Matt Millen isn't their GM so I doubt they would do something as stupid as taking a WR 1st overall.
ETA: then again, I think they traded a future 1st round pick for the 33rd pick a couple of years ago and took a guy who hasn't done shite. And they got killed on a trade for a pick they used to draft Armanti Edwards, who barely played last season.

agreed, Mallett and Newton and Gabbert should not go #1. But couldn't you see them giving up on Jimmy and feeling like they have to take a franchise guy

I'll go ahead and say Mallett and Gabbert will look superior to Newton at the Combine due to his atrocious footwork and the offensive style he played in.

If I were an NFL scout, I would put Cam high on my list, too as I put Tebow high on my list also, but for some reason, the scouts were a bit down on Tebow, and are a little on Cam, also. Sure he will sell a bunch of "2" Panther jerseys, but ultimately these guys want to win, and that is it.

Cam won't go first overall because Carolina isn't taking a QB, but more so because Cam isn't ready to be an NFL QB and no team is going to pay him first pick money to groom him for a couple years.

As a Panthers fan I've flipped back and forth on Fairley several times. Part of me says to take the player with the consistent college career in Green. On the other hand you just don't see players dominate on the Dline like Fairley did often. And DT is a huge position of need for us, even more so than QB.
If only Luck had entered the draft
