CBS is available digitally via antenna. While I dislike their 6 hour games I do like that I can pick them up over air.

Yep keep this shite on CBS

Be worth the move to get rid of Gary.

Knowing our luck the new network would bring him over.

Apple CEO Tim Cook is an Auburn grad and a huge fan of SEC Football. Expect him to play a major role in acquiring the SEC contract for streaming on Apple TV.

Anything would be an improvement over the shafting that’s the conference is getting from CBS. Purely as a business model. For the fans, it sucks. But we live in a country where the old money is kicked to the curb for new eyeballs. Totally fricked

You mean an absolutely free medium available to every single person in the country?

Jesus Christ, some of you people are fricking imbeciles.

If CBS won't pony up a fair amount (they're probably paying about 25% of what the contract is worth), then sure, go to the highest bidder. But CBS should ABSOLUTELY be the first entity you deal with.

Leave it on CBS good god you cordless fgts ruin everything

It's the future of sports.Google,Amazon and Apple are all worth more by themselves
than ABC,NBC,CBS and ESPN combined.

There'll still be some OTA games but I imagine they're gonna be lower tier matchups and confrences

Sorry CBS has not been a good partner. They've flat refused to renegotiate the deal and the deal wasn't even renegotiated when the conference expanded in '12.Which was part of the reason for expansion in the 1st place.

Yes. Amazon could buy the SEC rights, and make bank as the lone streaming service. Add that to prime TV and offer a live option for $15 a month amd they will print money.

Pretty crazy that Amazon doesn’t have their own live streaming service already

They aren't any more liberal than the major cable networks. Give me a break, dude. Bro, not everyone is out to get you.

yep, if politics is your basis for watching or not watching football, I'm afraid you would not see many games anymore.

My skepticism would be about non-sec markets never seeing sec teams play anymore, unless they already have whatever streaming service it is.

Some random guy in Ohio isn't purchasing it just to watch LSU/Bama or whatever game. Which means you've just lost exposure to over half of America.

You can thank the crooks at the big telecom companies for that. When you shake down millions of Americans in the form of a “convenient bundle package” with internet, phone and cable and it costs $250-$300 month, people who are on a budget are going to get pissed and cut the cord

While I agree, you also have to look at the bigtime content producers as a major part of the problem. ESPN has a stranglehold on most TV providers (cable, satellite or otherwise) and demand outrageous fees per subscriber.

Having worked at a large cable company and been privy to contract details, I can tell you ESPN and Discovery/History channel make up well over 40% of most cable bills. Until the portion of cord cutters reaches catastrophic points and forces a la carte ti happen prices will continue to escalate.
