No, LSU isn't ready to win the west right now. Too many good teams and they have that Ole Miss-Arky thingy that raises it's head about every year that just kills it. A loss to Bama doesn't kill the season but the losses to Missy and Arky have.
I can't se any better than 8-4 unless some fluke luck. A These games will be toss-ups at best for LSU
Auburn
Florida
Ole Miss
Arky
State
A&M

With the talent at LSU, which is regarded higher by LSU fans than the rest of us I just can't see more than 3 wins in that bunch. I'm not even mentioning Syracuse or that "we have one great game a year in us" South Carolina team. Forget beating Bama right now.

Anywhere from 7-5 to 12-0. You could say that about probably 5 teams in the sec next year. LSU will have as much talent and potential as anyone

Have an upvote. I think this could hold true for 3 or 4 of the 7 teams in the west. We should know more how things are going to shake out by week 4. I like catching Miss. State and Auburn early in the season.

Auburn
Florida
Ole Miss
Arky
State
A&M
I see all these games as very winnable with decent QB play. The only game out of the 6 I'd call a toss up is Auburn.

Why would anyone be shocked if LSU ended up making the playoffs? We're loaded at everywhere but QB, and LSU has a potential stud in the qb race. One of the most talented and experienced coaching staffs in the country too.

The West is completely wide open this season. I might not even toucha prediction thread

According to ESPN positional rankings and my formula put into the SEC Schedule LSU should go 11-1 and play Tennessee in the SEC Championship game.

The only people who would be surprised if LSU won the SEC would be Rantards. Any knowledgeable college football fans knows that LSU will be a contender. All of the ridiculous "no way" responses in this thread are simply wishful thinkers and negas.

Can you honestly tell me that LSU will achieve anything with Anthony Jennings as their starting QB? You really have that much faith in him?

Last year we had the ball and were driving and missed a hail mary after being demolished on defense by State. Literally one heave away from 35-34 and a huge, deflating loss with State's best team in ages.

We lost in Overtime to Bama and also lost to Notre Dame on the last drive, both thanks to a Defensive Coordinator who thankfully headed to greener pastures.

Now, can it easily be construed that we barely won tight games versus Ole Miss, Florida and TAMU. But if you can argue it one way you can argue it the other.

Which means we were close to a sub .500 season. But, we were just as close-with the worst QB in FBS, literally-to finishing 11-2 with losses to Auburn and Arkansas being the only games where we simply were not competitive (though the defense played gamely until giving up a late TD in Arkansas).

So to think that this defense won't get better when you saw it improve staggeringly from Game 1 to Game 13? Foolish and/or troll/anti-LSU mentality there. We lost nobody of consequence and are a year better across the board. We've especially increased the stable on the Line which was our Achilles' heel after Beckwith replaced Welter at Mike.

To think that this offense won't be fantastic with three returning starters at OL who are 3 year starters, and its entire bevvy of talented skill position types, even if we get next to no improvement from QB? Again, it's foolish.

But that won't stop LSU fans from biting the troll-chum most Ole Misery, Arkansucks and Aggies are regurgitating.

I could easily see LSU winning the SEC West, competing for the SEC Championship and being in the CFB Playoff. I could also see us stumbling and losing 3 games.

But LSU doesn't stay down for long. Under Miles this was only our 2nd time under 9 wins. We've only had 3 years under Les where we haven't won double digits. Doom and gloom is wishful thinking from opposing fans.

LSU is a beast. Deal with it.

I think at worst 7-5 or 8-4 but at best I could see 12-0. We have tons of talent but so does a lot of teams in the west or for that matter the entire SEC. We won't/shouldn't lose a OOC game and I have a hard time believing we lose any more than 4 conference games.
If WR's are bigger and stronger and a QB can rank in the top 8 in the conference, we can be 12-0. Also think we need better play from the DLine, especially DT's but I think Coach O will get these young guys going in the right direction.
For the record, I could see all teams in the West have a shot to win it. I think Miss St has the less amount of talent but the best QB and that makes a big difference. Will be another tough year and only getting tougher with the level of recruiting going in in the West.

Pro Tip: When taking a break from World of Warcraft from deep within your own personal Helm's Deep that everyone else you know refers to as "(Insert Gradual_Stroke's actual name here)'s parents basement," and you decide to get some message boarding on, be careful. When attempting to "burn" regarding someone's intelligence quotient, you may want to mix in some capitalization and punctuation, brah.

If QB play improves, the world opens up for LSU. Lots of good things happen with an efficient offense.

If QB play stays where it is, I expect similar results as 2014. If QB play improves, the record will also improve.

I don't think it would ever be a surprise for LSU to have a great football team with the talent they have so we will just have to see. I think a lot of teams in the SEC are about the same as what you just described so i think it will again be a shootout with most teams having a couple of losses. Just my opinion.
