Exactly. I keep seeing hundreds of people say 'Well if Mett is just average Lsu will be national champs.'
Little early don't cha think? Petrino had a similar situation with our defense, in 2010 people said if the D can just be average Arkansas could win it all.
Then a guy named Cam Newton came tearin through the Sec and fricked all that up. Arkansas' defense saw major improvement between 09 and '10, but unforseen factors played into the scenario and we finished 2nd in the Sec.
Just because Mett looks to be an improvement over JJ doesn't mean everything else will go according to plan.

Agree 100%. Any LSU,Alabama,Southern Cal,etc fan thinking National Title or bust and not winning it = bad season in MARCH for Pete's Sakes is asking for disappointment.

it's not a stretch to say it's possible! The schedule is not as tough as last years and our passing game will be MUCH better

I don't think Les sucks at all. I'm GLAD he's at LSU. I think he's a good coach. However, if LSU got a great coach, I'd be pretty damn pissed about it.

Alabama was better than LSU at the line of scrimmage last year and will be again. In other words we could block you but you couldn't block us.

If not for Newton Arkansas would have faced SC in the championship game and would have won the SEC.

Bama was slightly better on the o-line, but d-line play was a push. The biggest difference was the QB we fielded allowed Bama to completely stack the box. You are going to get good pressure when you can bring 7 all damn day.

LSU will have a tough team next year and the only question mark will be Mett and if he can step up when needed but that can be tough on a first year starter in the toughest division of the toughest conference.
The only team that can beat LSU next year is Alabama and that game will be another fist fight in a phone booth.

I agree. I think the winner of that game plays Oregon or USC for the title (assuming Oregon doesn't get the ban hammer on postseason play)
