That's a good question what's his salary?
He is pretty old at this point isn't he? Same age as Saban?

Pinkel has been pursued by UDub in the past.

Yea but he didn't hop up and go to a brand new school. Not a lot of coaches get hired away to new places at age 62.

I mean he would move up from Mizzou so I bet recruiting would be easier facilities would be better. Its not like he would be building a program from scratch.

I think Mullen is a good coach. He had done well with less talent compared to Ole Miss, UGA and others who recruit very well but seem to not get the best from their players.

Pinkel is fairly old (by HC hiring standards).
His salary is 3.25 mil.
As the winningest coach in Missouri (and Toledo) history, he pretty much has a free pass to coach as long as he likes at Mizzou.

Why isn't Pinkel on anybody's list for new HC?

He also turned down the Washington job.

He said back a few months ago that he thought most programs knew he was happy where he was so he didn't expect to get many calls this year. I feel like he knows our staff will take care of him and doesn't feel the need to have his agent leverage him into a raise. He's been a big name in searches for about 4-5 years, if he was interested in leaving I think he would be gone already.
If we had won the SEC, I would worry. I honestly think he is stubborn enough to stick until he wins here. Telling people he doesn't wear his championship rings and won't until he wins one at Mississippi State, etc... It's possible he's just putting out an image, but at this point I doubt it. His wife is also a big factor.
Someone is going to have to be willing to pay more than us for it to happen. And people don't pay more than 3-4 million for a new coach that hasn't won a natty before, we are willing to go over that because of what he has done here. It's far easier to keep someone than hire, because you know them and have evidence of what they can do at your school. See Ole Miss for a prime example. Freeze is worth 4 million to no school but them, because they know that he can work for them. Anywhere else and you are taking a chance, because the variables are different.
