Cotton Bowl can’t be to happy with Texas and OU leaving like this. If the SEC allows them to be part of their preferred Bowl package then they will probably be third behind Sugar and Peach. And if the Big12 comes apart all together then that might spell the end of it.

It’s part of the CFP rotation. I don’t think they care.

The Cotton Bowl is now a NY6 bowl game and has no affiliation with the Big XII. Since the cutover in 2014, only three Big XII teams have played in the game.
It'll be fine and they couldn't care less about the Big XII's pending dissolution.

Since the start of the NY6, there has only been one year that an SEC team didn't play in the Peach (2015 was Houston/FSU), but outside of the two semifinal years, the Peach has been the landing spot for the G5 team all but once (2018 Florida/Michigan). The appearance of the SEC in the Peach is more a product of the SEC having multiple high ranked teams at the end of the season and having one of those teams matched up against the G5 at large.

Cotton Bowl will be dissolved anyway as soon as Chuba Hubbard or some other overrated player declares that cotton is racist.

CoBo is not what it was once, but still has fond memories.

Tell me you don't follow CFB closely without actually telling me you don't follow CFB closely.

The Cotton Bowl has been played between Wisconsin-Western Michigan and Penn State-Memphis in recent years. They do get one of the Playoff semis every three years, but it hasn't been what it was traditionally since the Playoff was implemented.
