No idea. All I know is I'm lucky to have been a fan of my team in the most fun and exciting time in SEC history.

Bama was lucky Saban did not have immediate success in Miami.

Seriously, I think both teams have the coaching, talent, and resources to compete at a high level this season. A good bounce here or there could help either.

Auburn's luck boils down to the play against UGA in 2013 and overcoming an early season loss thanks to the OSU loss in 2013.

Bama's luck includes the unique aspect of 2 blocked field goals in 2009, overcoming a late season loss in 2011 and getting voted into a title game despite not winning your conference or division and in 2012 Bama overcame a late season loss thanks to other teams loosing later.

Every team typically has a defining situation or two for each season. Some aren't so much luck. Winning games late when you control every statistical category in the game or by your own ability to make a play isn't really luck. Otherwise both schools had lots of luck in the last 5 years.

As much as it pains me to say it, I still think Bama was the best team last year. I thought it was clearly a coaching mistake to try a field goal that far out. As far as Auburn goes, sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

Bama underestimated Auby's toughness last year. Plain and simple. They never made that arse quit like most teams do.

No reason to disparage either team. The stats don't support your theory. Auburn had more first downs, equal time of possession, etc…And Auburn had the only turnover but somehow managed to out score Bama 27-7 heading to the house from mid way through the 2nd quarter. Luck doesn't accomplish that.

The 7 that Bama scored was a lucky 99 yard pass.

I agree. Perfect throw, but luck the two defenders collided.

I'm tempted to say Alabama, but every 1 loss team has needed some luck to get into the title game. Auburn it is.

There's a difference between luck and spinning a web of lies to back into a game!

This is exactly the reason the correct answer is Alabama. They got into the title game with 1 loss in both in 2011 and 2012. You can also point to several games when they were lucky to win in 2009

Somebody once told me you make your own luck by putting yourself in position to capitalize on others mistakes, misfortunes, f-ups, etc.....

Alabama and Auburn both have been fortunate over the last five years. Bama has been the better, more consistent team, luck is part of the game and there is no shame in using it.

So I say Bama has been luckier and I will take more please.
