From WIKI
"In 1990, Arkansas announced it would leave for the Southeastern Conference, marking the beginning of the end for the conference."
The Big Longhorn conference should re-name themselves SWC, big 12 with 10 member?

That was such a fun game. I was in the bleachers in front of the Broyles complex for that game. Then after the game Dickson Street Exploded. People driving up and down the street honking horns etc.
The Texas and the Coog High games a few years later in hoops were big deals in the Nam.

I was there as a student. Quite honestly it was Fayetteville and Dickson Street at its finest--bonfires in the street and all that stuff.
The next day a friend of mine couldn't even remember where he had parked his car. Turns out someone had solen the damned thing and they found it out by the Mall.

Agree 100%. The closest it has come to that since was 98 Tenner game with goal posts tide to the brew pub balcony.

Same here. It was the 2nd Hog game I had ever seen live. The first being the 1978 Orange Bowl when we crushed Oklahoma. I was actually selling programs at this game. Miss America was from Arkansas that year - Elizabeth Ward - and I got to meet her when she came in through the gate where I was selling programs.

Our family was in the south end zone. Temporary bleachers at that time, I think. I remember pinning the horns deep in their own territory and they snapped the ball over a punter's head and I almost caught it.

I was living in Ark at that time I remember watching that game. Billy Ray Smith had the most dominate defensive player game I ever saw. He single-handedly destroyed Texas' running game
