Rumor Mill: Schloss to Texas
Literally no one with any credibility thinks this. He didn’t jump from a successful tenure at TCU & build the Aggies program to then turn around and leave.

Vic Schaefer and Chris Beard had identical resumes when each were hired, as Schaefer had also coached his team to the NCAA finals.

I mean... google is free. Y'all know that, right?

It actually isn't. Wow. You don't know what it means. What a surprise

You are welcome to try. You will fail just as you did the first three times when he was at TCU. I honestly thought we would as well, but we were lucky that Schloss was looking for a new opportunity for personal reasons.

So you don't think it's significant that the greatest men's athletic team in your athletic program's 120+ year history was outdrawn by one of the bottom 10 Texas baseball teams over the past 60 years?

No wonder you couldn't get in

Thanks, I'll let CDC know you're good with it.

BBP isn't that big, which is why we are expanding. Maybe simple math is beyond you? You are one of those t-shirt fans aren't you?

Yep, that is also true.. which is why we are making a change..

Vitello
Schloss
Sullivan

I believe it will be 1 of those 3. Maybe I am flat out wrong, but as I have said for a while, CDC is good at what he does.. see his other hires above.. Sully fits the description perfectly.. and he may be looking for a change..

I think Vitello and Schloss also fit.. we shall see what happens.. We will get a melt with 3 of the 4 options.. the 4th option being we don't get one of those and we are the ones melting..

Lol only 4 posts and I've already been accused of being a "t-shirt fan" by two different aggies

Y'all just repeat the same talking points when you're flustered, huh?

No, my friends that actually went to Texas show way more common sense.

Lol what did I say that wasn't common sense? Texas... outdrew a&m this season... despite being a much worse team.

Seems pretty cut and dry to me.

Didn't you just call Vic Schaefer an "up-and-comer" when Texas hired him despite having identical prior success as Chris Beard?

Seems like common sense could've helped you out there... but alas

so yall are nowhere near A&M and the idea that yall are firing a coach who has accomplished essentially the same and yet yall are firing him over some magical greater standard actually doesn't apply at all

I don't know if Sullivan is looking to leave Florida
I know Vitello isn't looking to leave
I know that Schloss isn't looking to leave either

Sometimes, you have to be in the right place at the right time.

YOU ARE 100% out of the loop.

Schloss already DENIED Texas.

Jay Johnson already DENIED Texas.

Bill O'Connor already DENIED Texas.

They are going down this list fast. Texas has run down facilities and is a 100% complete rebuild.

Texas fans think everyone wants to come there. In reality, many coaches don't want to put up with their crap including all their fair weather fans. CDC really has screwed Texas by not keeping the facilities up to a SEC standard.

I laugh at UT!! Come back to this thread as all the sips will say they hired their #1 choice. But of course that won't be Schloss or Johnson...as they decided they wanted better coaches!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

FYI....no SEC coach other than Van Horn is going to seriously consider. Sullivan might, just might. But everyone else is gonna laugh at you!! Be prepared to compete with MO for last place next year!!

Y’all aren’t considering how hard it will be for A&M to compete after Texas joins the conference. A&M’s advantage is now over and they did nothing with it.

2011-2012: "A&M can't compete in the SEC. They're not ready."

(2012-2024: A&M competes well in the SEC.)

Current recycled talking point on tRant:
"A&M won't compete in the SEC with the new expansion. Big, bad longhorns and sooners are scary."

You'll learn eventually i guess.

That list of coaches is pretty meh ... The only two I know are Vic Schaefer (because of A&M), and Chris Beard because he was all over the news as a woman beater.

None of them were "names" except Beard. All up and comers

They had a great resume when they were hired.. that was my point.. not their names.. Most people don't follow those sports..

As an example, I had no idea who Bob Bowman was before we hired him, but that seems like a great hire. They all had skins on the wall.. or were really close to getting them.. That is who CDC targets.

You could make an argument that Bakich also fits this narrative.. as does Jay Johnson.. but I just can't think of a reason why we wouldn't have already pulled the trigger if it was one of those coaches.. or really anyone who isn't still playing..

You will say.. he may be waiting to talk to them until they are done playing.. and I will say.. look at his recent hires.. they are locked up before the season was done.. they just weren't announced yet..

Bottom line.. Something is going to happen and somebody is probably going to melt.. and maybe that someone is me..

Right? It's one of the more ridiculous rumors surrounding our program in quite some time. Part of me wonders if this rumor was floated just to get under the Aggies skin. I wouldn't put it past some Texas fans to do just that.
know we will find the right guy because CDC has a track record of finding the right guy. Basketball doesn't count. He was forced into that hire. The fallout from not giving Terry that job would have been enormous.
