I could see Ole Miss and LSU giving you trouble but probably not anybody else in the regular season.

Auburn should give Bama hell.

Virginia Tech is a pretty good team. Can't take that one away from Bama.

Maybe, but my level of intelligence has no bearing on the fact that your running game isn't quite up to the level of the '08 team.....

Have you seen Ingram and Richardson? Our OL isn't better than the 08 version (they may be later in the season) but I think an older Ingram, Richardson, Upchurch and Grant are better than last year's version of our RBs.

Your running game is not better. Your quarterback is better. It makes a huge difference.

My, my, the mouth on this one.....I didn't know this was a thread about Auburn. I mean, I understand that we are on your minds a lot lately, but I was under the impression this was about Ole Miss playing an untested Alabama team?

He might have went overboard with the language but do you honestly think Va Tech is not a great opponent? They are in the top 5 and only have a loss because of Bama.

You have some nice Saban-style running backs. That's great. Good for you guys. However, it's all about blocking and without solid o-line play it doesn't matter who is toting the rock.

I think you guys will run into somebody who will stop your running game and force you to beat them in the air. That seems like an easy thing with G-Mac, but with the right coverages, it isn't a foregone conclusion that you keep torching people in the air.

Ingram and Richardson

may be 2 of the best in the sec but Richardson will not be able to break 3 tackles in the back field like he did to Ark. That was the only reason we avg over 2 yds a carry against Ark

I agree to an extent. Our QB is alot better. Like I said, I don't think our OL is better but Richardson has shown the ability to break tackles in the backfield and Ingram has great vision. I do think our stable of RBs are better and our OL will be better at run blocking later in the season hopefully.

No, they were not a "great opponent." They were a solid opponent, but we all know VaTech is notorious for slow starts and that they are a different team outside of Blacksburg.

The ranking means very little to me. That ranking they are enjoying comes courtesy of a baseless top ten starting point and beating a poor Miami team in Virginia. So what?

didnt they just beat Oklahoma with or without Bradford for a team like Miami who is not even remotely considered elite this means they have to be a good team.

I see what you're saying but it's easier said than done to load the box and cover all of our big WRs one on one. I just don't think anyone besides maybe LSU has the entire defensive package to do that. I may be wrong (definitely wouldn't be the first time).

It would surprise the shite out of me if LSU gave you guys a game in T-Town. Just don't see it.

I agree. OM and LSU have the two best fron sevens we'll see and our OL will have to do alot better at run blocking.

They're not playing great right now but they have too much talent on that team not to give us a good game. They always play us better in T-town and I don't see this year being any different.

I think some of Snead's troubles have come because of the O-Line but discount our receiver's apparent inability to seperate in the first 3 games. A little bit better against Vandy though.

I think this will be a big factor.

This is a very astute analysis.

After all, Auburn played a close game with Tennessee, yet Alabama has a defense easily as good as (if not better than) Tennessee's and an offense that looks NFL-like when compared to the Crompton-led Vols.

I think that both of us have a better defense than TN does.

I don't think that Auburn is going to put up the same kind of fight that LSU or Ole Miss should put up. They don't quite have the defense to hang with Bama.

Their offense is great, but relies almost entirely on misdirection, which is almost useless against saban. I still think that since it is the Iron bowl and at Auburn, theyll give Bama everything they can handle.

The Auburn game is the only game Ole Miss has left out of state.
