The reality of UGA's 2022 season
#1 team: UGA didn't lose a game.
#2 team: UGA beat them head to head.
#3 team: UGA beat the only team that beat them.
#4 team: UGA beat them head to head.
#5 team: UGA beat both teams that beat them.
#6 team: UGA beat them head to head.
#7 team: UGA beat one of the teams that beat them.
#8 team: UGA did not beat them or a team that beat them. They did beat their one common opponent by 46 while the #8 team beat them by 3.
#9 team: No common opponents or head to head. (this is Tulane)
#10 team: UGA beat two of the 4 teams that beat them.
That's the reality. Not only did UGA go undefeated, they beat the top 10 or beat teams that beat the top 10 to a huge degree. There simply isn't an argument.

UGA had the easiest path that a champion in the modern era has ever had last year. The sooner you accept it the better.
This year would be even easier if you do win it again.
It took legalizing paying players and cakewalks, but UGA finally is a winner

Again, there is only ONE intelligent, sensible and decent Bama fan on this forum and that is 'Hater Bait'. Go back and look at his (or her) comment on page one of this thread. He said it best and any sensible, intelligent fan of ANY fanbase will agree. Pay special attention to what he said about 'sour grapes' and 'jealous' and 'sore losers' doing what you are essentially doing in your post.

I'm observing something that pretty much anyone can see. UGA didn't beat a single conference champion last year, has that EVER happened for a supposed champion?

GEORGIA HAS THE ABSOLUTE BIGGEST CUPCAKE ?? SCHEDULE IVE EVER SEEN, MAYBE THEY WILL GET TO BEAT UP ON ANOTHER LITTLE TEAM LIKE TCU AGAIN.

Anyone with 2 brain cells can see that the two strongest conferences in the country currently are the SEC and the Big 10. The Big 10 champ (Michigan) got beat by TCU, who we subsequently crushed.
And we didn't have to play the SEC champ, because...we ARE the SEC champ.
Instead of trying to take ridiculous shots at me my friend, you need to be concerned with LSU, who seems to be solidifying themselves as the dominant team in the SEC West. Bama loses their Heisman trophy winning QB and a ton of talent. That same LSU team that took down the Tide last year returns their QB and most of their starters. Throw in a dumpster full of off-the-field crap that has plagued the program and I'd say there is a pretty good chance that the mighty Tide will be watching the SEC championship game from their dorm rooms this season...again.

Or maybe we can beat up on LSU and Tennessee again....2 teams that beat the Tide. So, if our schedule was a cupcake schedule, then what does that say about Bama?

UGA beat #2, beat the only team that beat #3, beat #4, beat both teams who beat #5 and beat #6.
I think UGA's championship is pretty cemented in based on how they defeated three of the next 5 teams and 3 teams that accounted for all of losses the other two in the next 5 had.
Not sure any one team has that level of dominance as a champion over the next 5 challengers in a season.

To put it another way, the next 5 teams after UGA in the rankings had a total of nine losses.
Seven of those nine losses came from UGA, or from a team UGA beat head to head.

Bama played 12 ranked teams with an average ranking of 8.3
Both teams played six top 5 teams
UGA played two teams ranked #1 at the time we played them
Bama played one team ranked #1
Maybe we can put that argument to rest now?

Ok...let's break these down...some of these early season rankings are inflated (or could be deflated), so let's see where they finished the season along with their record to give a true retrospective comparison:
The variable in the mix...Bama's second season was an All-SEC season in 2020, and there were only 4 SEC teams ranked at the end of the season due to conference cannibalism.

UGA
Clemson #3 - # 14 (10-3)
Arkansas #8 - #21 (9-4)
Auburn #18 - Unranked (6-7)
Kentucky #11 - #18 (10-3)
Michigan #2 - #3 (12-2)
Alabama #1 - #2 (13-2)
Oregon #11 - #15 (10-3)
Tennessee #1 - #6 (11-2)
LSU #14 - #16 (10-4)
Ohio State #4 - #4 (11-2)
TCU #3 - #2 (13-2)

Auburn #6 - #10 (10-4)
Clemson #1 - #4 (12-2)
UGA #3 #2 (13-2)
Texas A&M #13 - #4 (9-1)
UGA #3 - #7 (8-2)
Auburn #22 - Unranked (6-5)
UF #7 - #13 (8-4)
Notre Dame #4 - #5 (10-2)
Ohio St #3 - #2 (7-1)

The difference if we still have more championships than anyone else in the SEC even if we do hand out asterisks to everyone

I didn't say we had a tough schedule

That's not what I meant. You are saying WE had a cup-cake schedule, but 2 of the teams we beat, DEFEATED the Tide. So, if LSU and UT were 'cup cakes' and they beat Bama, then, what does that make Bama?
Posted on 5/8/23 at 12:06 pm to TrussvilleTide
I think away games at Texas, Tennessee, LSU IS a tough schedule.

UGA played 2 of those teams (UT at home, LSU in Atlanta).
They also played SC (#23) on the road (who finished the season ranked ahead of Texas(#25)) and Oregon (#15) in Atlanta (ranked ahead of LSU (#16)).
Both teams also played MSU (ranked #20), but UGA played them on the road while Bama played them at home.
If Bama's schedule last season was tough, UGA's was a murderer's row.
Of course we played #2 and #4 in the playoff to add to that.
