I don't get the Mizzou or Kentucky love.

I do see 11 sec teams in postseason though.

For Auburn, I think pitching will take a major step forward. I do worry about our catchers and defense, especially outfield defense. Rarely do you see a team lose top 5 round CF in back to back years and have a quality replacement.

SEC PotY: Casey Mize (AU)
Pitcher: Casey Mize (AU)
Hitter: Antoine Duplantis (LSU)
Gold Glove: Deacon Liput (FLA)
Freshman: Tanner Burns (AU)

Might be overrating Mize and Burns but think all 4 of those guys will be in the conversation for those specific awards at year's end.

Sorry Mizzou I got that wrong. 22 is Missouri State. I skipped over the state part. I went back and edited the original post

Nah, Duplantis won't even be our best hitter. Zach Watson and newcomer Daniel Cabrera will be better. We will also get 2016 1st Team All-SEC DH Bryce Jordan back who missed all of last year after tearing his ACL in practice. I also expect big things from Josh Smith after a good freshman season. But Watson is a pre-season AA. Cabrera was arguably our most impressive hitter in the fall this year and is probably the most talented player on the team. Hunter Feduccia had a great fall as well. Love Duplantis, but I do not see him being the best hitter on our team, much less the conference unless you meant the batting average leader, which is certainly possible (he went 24/48 this past fall).

We lost too much to be preseason #1. Top 10 I could agree with.. but I see this season as being a disappointment. Maybe I’m just disappointed with our overall sports program at the moment.... but still..

Thanks for filling us (well really me) in. I am trying to draw back from reports I've read and yes I remember him having a high average and I thought he was supposed to have increased power this year.

The league is going to be absolutely stacked again this year I can't wait. We're within 2 months of opening weekend. Conference baseball is the best time of the year.

It's basketball season.

Nobody cares about baseball.

I think the fact that people are discussing baseball in this thread shows that this statement is not accurate

Judging by the thread responses, I'd say you're incorrect.

Auburn too low

I agree.

I'll also say 1 out of the group of Georgia, Missouri, Alabama, or Tennessee will make the ncaat.
The conference is a meat grinder.

1/2 of the top 10 and over 1/3 of the top 20 are SEC.

Surely this honor belongs to Tennessee. I don't think they have finished over 0.400 in league play in the last 10 years.

Kentucky is pulling in a Top 10 class, coming off its first Super in history, and return Hjelle, Lewis, Pompey, etc. No reason to think they won't be a strong team again.

I'm sure UF has seventeen pitchers on staff who all were drafted in the first round but chose college instead.
