would it be easier or harder to recruit LSU in state if Clemson was in state.

But, that's not what you're saying. You're using App State, ECU, UCF and South Alabama while ignoring similar schools around Louisiana. You also used VA Tech while ignoring similar schools around Louisiana.

No way... Clemson got a 5 star running back as their second choice? How could that have happened if they all want to goto LSU? You've spent this whole time saying that doesn't happen.

App State and ECU were minor points.

The big issues is four P5 programs in the same state, a state not the size of California and Texas and Florida.

3 of those are in the same metro, the other about 45 minutes away.

it is a unique situation. it is almost more like a high school dynamic.

if I was ACC commish, I'd proposed paying DUke and Wake to leave the conference. Would help the football brand bigly. Duke would still play UNC and NC State out of confernece so don't lose anything there.

Duke and Wake don't make any money on football.

Duke and Wake exit and ACC replaces them with ND full time and West Virginia.

Immediately ACC becomes America's football conference and still the best basketball conference.

fullstop. strategically the ACC can break the SEC.

the only bad part of this plan is it would probably mean UNC wins more ACC titles and i hate a UNC bball.

But, you have the nerve to say that there isn't much football to speak of in Mississippi as a retort.

Just so we're clear, Clemson is competing with NC State, UNC, Duke, Wake Forest and VA Tech. But, LSU doesn't have to compete with Miss St, Ole Miss, Houston, A&M, Arkansas or even Bama or Auburn. That pretty much sums up what you're saying. Once again you contradicted yourself with the instate argument.

LSU averaged 10+ wins a season over two decades and every year the rant says 8-4.

how hard exactly is it for Clemson to recruit? They're a few hours from Atlanta, have very little competition from South Carolina in state, and no competition for the players they want in North Carolina. Players go to teams that win. LSU wins a lot so they get more of the players they want. Same with Alabama and other teams that recruit well every year. LSU did not recruit well when they weren't winning in the 90s. The talent in state didn't miraculously get better. The program got better.

Yes, LSU has a good advantage having good in-state talent, but when 15 of their 50 recruits the past two years are from out of state, it kinda dispells the notion that the only reason SEC schools are good is because they have inherent recruiting advantages.

Why aren't UCLA and USC dominating? Why isn't Texas or Texas A&M? Why isn't Michigan? Why isn't Penn State? I could go on, but there are plenty of states with just as much, if not more, talent than the state of Louisiana and Alabama do, based on pure volume of recruits, that it's all a wash.

And give me a break about NC schools cannibalizing each other. That has never happened. When Tennessee was winning, they got who they wanted from North and South Carolina. Now that Clemson is winning, they get those recruits. Clemson basically has their run of 2 states plus a lot of Georgia. Add that to playing in a weak conference, and you want to talk about piled up wins that aren't impressive?

Clemson fans are the equivalent of the folks who end up on Intervention because they won 4 million in the lottery

Truth is, the SEC TV money and ESPN deal is the key advantage the SEC has over college football. Programs like Arkansas are cashing in, more than anyone else in the country.

The nation's largest sports network basically sponsors the SEC. The PAC 12 definitely isn't getting this same treatment. There was parity back in the 90s and early 2000s before ESPN got involved. It is what it is.
