College Football should have kept old bowl games and have one title game after the bowls

And we should have kept the old conferences too, but that's another discussion.

Bowl games and then a vote of coaches and media along with computers and rankings and record to choose a #1 and #2 for one more game after the bowl season. Everyone plays the bowl games related to your conference title or at-large berth and then have a vote and have one more game on January 8th or whatever. And that's it.

The excitement level would be much higher, the bowl games would mean something, and the regular season would mean more.

As it is, the excitement for the Playoffs is not what it should be. No one remembers a quarterfinal game played in Austin or Ann Arbor. It's never going to be like March Madness. So, what is it for?

Would've been:

Indiana vs Ohio State rematch

or

Indian/Ohio State winner vs 12-1 SEC Champ Georgia

Top 8 from combined polls and commitee.

Quarters and Semis on campus.

Championship game neutral (rotates between,Rose, Fiesta, Cotton, Sugar, Peach and Orange).

All others use the Bowls.

They 99% got it right, didn't they?

Humans are pissy emotional creatures. Always with a bias even if they're not really even hard core cfb fans.

Computers are cold hard metal machines.
