It’s actually a split national title. USC finished the season undefeated and blanking #1 Tennessee in the Rose Bowl

Damn, I did not realize it took so long to integrate the SEC. Ohio State football was integrated in 1891. Hard to believe it took you guys 76 years to follow our lead.

The last aggie championship predates plastic helmets and penalty flags?

Bell began his career at Ohio State in the 1920's, nearly 40 years before the SEC. He was not allowed to play against any Southern teams. Each of Ohio State's national champions had a black player star for the Buckeyes.

1939 for Texas A&M is outright. USC went 8-0-2. The national title was decided at the end of the regular season. USC has no claim.

It is interesting to me how the Cotton Bowl has escaped the ire of the word police.
