but Tennessee needs to win the East this year or it could start getting ugly there.

i don't think they "have" to win the East for Butch's seat not to get warm, but they have to be competitive and right in the thick of things. For instance, if he goes 10-2 overall and 6-2 in the conference, but doesn't win the East, his job security is better than it was going into this season. However, Butch cannot keep losing games that he's leading in the 4th quarter.

According to Butterfly and C34, Freeze is out with a show clause coming.

Should rephrase to say Butch would be in trouble if they go 8-4 again. Another loss to Florida probably wouldn't help his cause.

If Botch doesn't win the east, his seat will be blazing going in to 2017.

I don't think anyone gets fired.

In the east Stoops seems most likely. Coach Mac , Muschamp , Odem and Smart are to new to get fired. Jones has shown he is close so I don't see don't him getting fired unless the Vols fall apart . Vandy seem to be getting better last year. With most of the east down they could win a few more games.

In the west the coaches on the hot seat seem to have large buyouts. Bert seem to do enough last year to keep his job . Mullen and Freeze have done a good job so far. If I had to pick someone from the west to get fired after the season , I would go with Miles.

Coonass has guaranteed Show Cause and firings for Freeze and multiple senior members of his staff.

So, in conclusion, Freeze gets the Max extension, and Max raise comparable to Dabo money.

Coonass has spoken.

Dan Mullin will be gone after this season whether on his own or by firing.

Sumlin is in trouble, it's gonna take a hell of a lot more than Trevor Knight to save him.

Wow. Just wow that a Villanova fan has this insight.

You obviously don't know anything about Texas Aggie football. Sumlin isn't going anywhere.

Mullen - 50% chance (because he will lose again badly to Ole Miss and OM is recruiting circles around him).

You're smoking crack if you believe this.

This site is garbage. Wait for Dennis Dodd to come up with his list. Any site without Charlie Strong in the top 3 is obviously BS. The guy went 5-7 last year and 6-7 the year before.

Will Muschamp just got the job. How the hell is he on the hot seat list?

You can only stand on the precipice for so long. Trying to leave, and daring them to fire you. Eventually, you have to either jump, or someone will push you.

Denying that means you're the one smoking crack.

Sumlin will be fired if he has the exact same season Les Miles had in 2015

He needs to win 9 and a bowl to get another year

Well, assuming you mean 9 in the regular season and a bowl for a total of 10, isn't that basically what Miles had in 2015, considering the cancellation of the McNeese game?

The standards at A&M have been established over many decades. No coach will ever get fired at A&M for going 8-4 in the regular season and winning a bowl game. That would probably rank in the top 20% of all seasons in Texas A&M history.

Wow. Really? I don't see that at all. I don't see how in the world he has a shot against Alabama or LSU, and I think this is the year Bert finally breaks through and beats them. And that's before you even consider challenging games against Tennessee, Ole Miss and UCLA (Aggies never beat good teams at home), along with tricky road games at Mississippi State and Auburn. I see them losing at least two of those, which would put them at 7-5 going into their bowl game. The only SEC game they don't really have to worry about is South Carolina. Their SEC floor is 1-7, with a probable ceiling of 4-4.

Stoops is starting to run out of room to dance I think. Two years in a row Kentucky started strong and then collapsed. He has recruited fairly well, but this is the what have you done for me lately year.

Only two games Kentucky probably should have done better in were the close lost to Vanderbilt and then collapsing in the second half to Louisville. Besides that, Stoops took care of business.

Bert has a free year since we are replacing a lot of talent... but it is a tricky free year. The schedule starts off tough and that is Bert's weakest point. Arkansas has a lot of offensive talent, but it will probably take a few games to get going. The Hogs should be, once again, a nightmare at the end of the season but sooner or later we aren't going to be able to win 5 out of our last 7. If Bert misses a bowl game next year, and the schedule is tough enough that he might, then his seat is glowing white hot.

Free season for Brett, but we need to see consistency from his squad. Can't hang your hat on the o-line and then watch them get blown off the line by some FCS program. This is year four, should have the depth to play week in, week out. Also, finally glad the hogs had an off season where they finally kept both coordinators.

Vanderbilt would be best to wait until Franklin gets canned at Penn St. If not, I think it'll be hard to find another coach who can get those results at Vandy.
