It's a shame we have such a hard schedule ahead of us, though.

If we can get through that schedule it will be a huge help though. Would be near impossible to keep AU out of the playoffs.

All of these things matter more then we remember at the end of the season. It shapes perception.

I see the Big Ten lining up for a bullshite entry into the playoffs when a one loss Mich St or Ohio St "deserves" it because of a conference championship.

Coaches Poll released - State still #1

Who keeps ranking Ole Miss 19th and not ranking MSU? Do they just keep submitting the preseason poll?

Bama has a #1 vote as well

Uhhhh...no, they don't.

Coaches have their secretaries fill in the poll ballots and mail them out. Coaches polls have always had discrepancies time and time again.

Remember, this BS poll was part of the BCS rankings system. Thankfully, the Coaches poll is not being used for selecting the playoff teams.

Oh, there's no doubt. Even if Mississippi State won out, the playoff committee would have to vote Auburn in if they won out, too. A one loss Auburn team with wins against Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Ole Miss, Kansas State, Arkansas, Georgia and so forth...that only has one loss that just so happened to come against undefeated and ranked #1 Mississippi State...they would HAVE to let us in.

Let State, Florida State, Notre Dame, and Oregon win out and watch what happens. Somebody in the SEC is going to be watching a bullshite team get their slot.

I remember real well how rankings matter. My point is if Auburn wins out they will jump just about everyone ahead of them except for MSU and FSU if they remain undefeated. It would be really hard to keep Auburn out of the playoffs getting through the schedule we have.

If we lose just one more game, it doesn't matter after that.

Most coaches understand the Ole Miss lose was a fluke.

Yeah. Bama beat themselves, so they are really undefeated.

It wouldn't surprise me, but it would be completely wrong on the voter's part.

It would be incredibly controversial to leave out an Auburn team with that type of resume.

Agree completely. I just have no faith in the committee and it is stacked with people who believe the SEC gets too much credit.

So you think a 1 loss Auburn gets in over a 1 loss MSU team who throughly beat Auburn? Seems legit.

I don't know how popular this opinion is, but I would have been in favor of the playoff system as long as the BCS formula chose the 4 teams...
