He'll win 9 or 10 games and be fine. Les Miles' record is only part of the reason he got fired. It was also his refusal to change. O has given his coordinators pretty quick hooks and its usually turned out well for him

I’m absolutely fine with 9 wins. I feel like we’re not nc caliber until walker comes in. Sucks we’re dependent on a great qb, but we could be in worse situations.

7-5 and his seat gets really hot. But he could go 1-11 if the one W was against Bama

This is a lie.

If Coach O goes 1-11 with the one W over Texas A&M with a second consecutive self-imposed bowl ban, his job is 100% safe.

He will have to go 9-3 or better and those 3 losses will need some explanation behind them, for him to not be on the hot seat in 22.

8-4 or 7-5 and he will be the #1 coach on the hot seat in 22.

He would have to go 6-6 or below to be fired.

Beating Bama is important it would help cover up a poor seasons performance, but what is the likelihood of that if we are having a poor season? Not likely at all

This is just water cooler talk. 10-2 is the absolute floor for this team. They can sleepwalk to 9-3.

UCLA
Florida
Ole Miss
Alabama
Texas A&M

Those are all losable games. Given the question marks at QB, TE, and OL, I think 10 wins is a pretty good season.

If he goes 6-6 or less, he is done.

7-5, he might get another season.

10-2 would be huge.

Ultimately he has to prove that even if he can't outdo the Joe B's, he can at least bring them in every so often. Otherwise, they'll dispatch with him pretty quickly and he'll be headed to Saban's rehab center with his shirt off again.

Orgeron as a D-line coach at Bama under Saban with his recruiting ties to Louisiana would be a nightmare.

You could make a convincing argument that this is the reason he's LSU's coach instead of a promising younger coach from a mid-major.

Its not a walk thru hell while covered in gasoline season like Arkansas has this year... but yeah, this is the sort of season that can get a coach on the hot seat.

LSU had, despite a ton of talent, a very underwhelming season last year. There are a lot of problematic games this year. Yes, LSU plays some very highly ranked teams this year... but LSU barely survived a dumpster fire Arkansas team last year.

Lets say, and this is not a stretch, LSU goes 0 my Jesus against Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Moo State this year.

Even with a win against Bama or A&M would that balance things out? I think LSU can win 9-10 games this year. If, however, they go 5-7 considering the vast amount of talent they have access to... do you keep YawYaw another year or cut bait and get someone else?

Yes... like Arkansas, starting from a complete dumpster fire or Moo State, starting with the Drunken Pirate who likes to pee on dogs, were in vastly better shape.

Own it. You were what you were last year.

Idk, Kirby's seat might be just as hot as O's.
If both teams finish 9-3, whose seat is hotter?

I think the type of losses will have a lot to do with the pressure . A couple of close losses or overtime losses in games against top ten teams...as compared to blowouts against rivals or even an upset against the JV teams. Like what has happened at Texas the last ten years.
