quote:
Meanwhile, another former Tiger player, fullback Vincent Harris, told SI, "Auburn is corrupt to the core. Everything Eric Ramsey says is true." Harris, who lettered from 1986 to '88, leveled the following charges:
On "three or four occasions" he asked assistant coach Bud Casey for $50 to $60, and Casey obliged. Says Harris, "I was just testing them to see how much I could get." Casey says, "I can't comment."
When Harris received more than $400 in parking tickets in 1986, he went to Dye and said, "I'm not paying these. They're not my problem." He says Dye told him, "Go see Coach Hall." Harris claims that he then went to see defensive coordinator Wayne Hall and that Hall "was kind of mad at me for getting all those tickets, but he gave me the money." Asked about this, Hall says, "We have been instructed to say, 'No comment.' " Dye says, "My lawyer has put a gag in my mouth."
quote:
Harris has a list of 30 Auburn players who, he contends, were receiving improper benefits—as much as $12,000 a year plus a car. He refused to provide all the names, but said that two former teammates, Stacy Danley, who was recently cut by the Seattle Seahawks, and James Joseph of the Philadelphia Eagles, were paid. When confronted with these allegations, Joseph said, "No comment,"
quote:
With his accusations, Harris, who quit the Tiger team in 1988, clearly turns up the heat on Auburn. "The point is, if you were a good ****, you got lots of stuff at Auburn," says Harris, who is black. "If you weren't, you didn't."

Pat's a good guy.
If anything, he's a poor judge of character. Probably because he's always drunk.
Did he break the rules? Yes. Did he run some elaborate "pay for play" scheme? No. Did they ever tender proof that he incentivized players to attend AU? No.

Do good guys go on national TV calling his former players liars, when they're telling the truth?

Debatable, as 3 of his coaches directly were caught on tape discussing payments and benefits, and he was on tape being told about how his coaches were helping take care of things.

Been mad at Bama long before 21-0. They have and always will be one of the dirtiest programs around. That culture is as close to PSU as can be ,you know it but will never admit it.

Weird how CNN would include 3 SEC teams, but leave off the SEC's all-time leader in major violations, years on probation, years banned from bowls, games banned from TV, and of course the employer of one Cam Newton for a semester.
While AU does lead with 11 seasons of being on probation, AL is knocking on the door with 10 seasons. The funny thing is that AU hasnt been on probation since 1995. AL first went on probation in 1995 has been on probation for 10 seasons up till this year.
If theres anything to learn from that little bit of information its this:
If AU is as dirty as you bammers claim then it seems like Bama should take some lessons from them in how they are getting away with everything.
AU- probation free since 1996 season
AL- on probation for a total of 10 seasons since 1995 to now.
Facts are facts.

Isn't it Ironic. Thread started by our biggest Rival, doesn't include ALL the statistics? Maybe I missed it,but isn't Auburn the MOST penalized team in the SEC? If you're gonna count probations, name all of the frickers, not just the time frame that suits you like, past 20 years.

Damn, never knew A&M was so dirty too. Same amount of infractions as Auburn.

We're 12 years into the 21st century and you want to start claiming "all century" totals?
Why didn't you just say in the last 12 years, or since the year 2000? At least then you wouldn't come off as desperate to claim a moral victory.

I could say 21st century, would this be better?

No, you still look desperate.

At least you didn't say something like "Two out of three ain't bad."

That's the same thing as saying "this century" wise guy. How is he claiming a moral victory by saying "this century"? The same would apply had he said any of the 2 things you suggested.
Posted on 7/27/12 at 4:38 am to GCTiger11
Because that's just attaching a grand label to an otherwise arbitrary time period. Twelve years isn't a decade, it isn't a century. It's just twelve years. Nobody measures years in groups of 12 but the Chinese, and dammit man, they're communists.
Why not say "The most BCSCG appearances by any SEC team ever?" It sounds just as grand without implying a 100 year time span.

If everything came out the Canes would be on that list, probably at #1. A PFP scam from its inception, with little or no abatement even at present.
