Last time we were in the Orange Bowl, we had an injured Peyton Manning and got our arse whipped by Nebraska who clenched the National Title that day. We thought there went our only chance. Turns out, we were just fine. 98 started painfully and ended great.

I was at that game. Tennessee fans loved that they sold liquor there. And Nebraska fans were the classiest I have ever seen.

My parents and cousin were there as well. I watched on tv and it was probably the most dominate performance by a team I've ever seen. Nebraska was so good you couldn't even be mad. Just sorta stunned.

For the life of me, I can’t figure out why they wouldn’t have played that Klubnik kid all year.

It was crazy it took that long to pull the trigger.

Should have happened before game one.

It makes you look small. I mean, Tennessee broke a 13 game losing streak against Bama and quit talking about it a month ago but you are still talking shite about beating Tennessee. That loss didn't even keep us out of the playoffs (South Carolina loss did). I thought after last years natty you guys would act like you've been there before. I guess not.

If so, then looks are deceiving as uga is the defending sec champion. In other words, Uga is BIG, not small.

Without uga kicking your asses, y’all make the playoffs, so I understand why you are mad.

I think Klubnik is a difference maker and us not having Hooker is another difference maker. The Vandy game didn't tell us much beyond our offense can score. (Vandy had been getting better and playing fairly decent D but we still carved them up but we did it differently).

Thing is we refused to run Milton during the Vandy game because his backup has a broken collar bone and so the two QBs that remain behind him aren't great. They started the year 4th and 5th string and are suddenly 2nd and 3rd.

Watching the Vandy game, was also like watching a season opener before a big game. I thought it was strange at the time because I didn't realize the backup situation because you'd have sworn they were protecting the playbook. It was as vanilla as hell. And it was a nasty rainy game where there was no real reason to push the offense through the air.

So with that in mind I don't think we know what we have yet. Joe can throw a 80 yard TD but he can also overthrow balls (we might not be fair to him on this bc Hooker overthrow balls too -- it's just that's what people remember of the first few games he started but they don't remember the WR drops or that we were replacing pretty much the entire WR corps).

So do we get a lot of miscues or not? And even if we do get those overthrows can we still score? I think we can. Heupel is just too damned good not to find a way to score *but* will it be enough against a Clemson team that is in the opposite situation and finally found it's QB.

Our defense isn't good against the pass. It is stout against the run but you can throw on us all day. Last game, we had 4 DBs out and we didn't feel it since we held Vandy to 0.

And another question... I don't know how many opt outs we're going to have and at what positions. I wouldn't be surprised if Tillman (heh) skips it since he's been hurt all season long. I hope that Hyatt plays and McCoy. It's hard to tell since we basically saw Squirrel White at WR all game vs. Vandy.

How do your opt outs and injuries look?

Not sure, i think all of the NFL bound players played in the Cheeze It bowl last year.

Tenn does look better at WR than Clemson and and Clemson does give up some chunk plays in the air. I think Clemson is going to have NFL talent on defense like Breese come back for one more season due to underperforming this year.

it should be a decent bowl game and a rare matchup. I had seen an Clemson-Alabama matchup projected. Most ppeopl are tired of seeing that one.

If Hooker could play, this bowl probably ould have the most viewers outside of the title game.

This just isn't true. None of us expected to win that game and none of us gave a shite that we lost. UGA has a weird af one-sided rivalry against Tennessee. Sorry your rivals suck but we're not yours. It also wasn't an arse whipping. SC was an arse whipping.

I think it has to favor Clemson with Hooker out but tbh, it was more important for us to get back to here than it is for us to win this game given the injury situation.

I want to believe Joe can manage but the problem is less Joe than our defense. Hooker was compensating for a non-existent D and I just don't know if Milton can do that with one vanilla as hell game and some bowl practice under his belt. He's more experience than your average backup/replacement but I think we were counting on the offseason to help him keep making gains.

IOW, Milton can be competent this game and we can still lose and maybe even lose ugly because what Hooker was doing was so above everyone else.

You can repeat it until you're blue in the face - you usually do. It won't change anything. It also won't change that I'm not interested in continuing this conversation.

I'm here to talk Tennessee vs. Clemson. Not here to talk about a meaningless game.
