I'm not sure what you mean here. My guess is that you are saying that our enrollment was down during WW2, but in that between WW1 and WW2 we had as many resources as all but 2 of the other 6 schools in the conference? Again, that data is hard to find. Feel free to find it and prove it.

I do know that we played at LSU damn near every year (if we played them at all) after 1920 and before 1985. Schools with resources don't usually do that.

Me saying I support the lifestyles of every yell leader, even though I don't know them, would be like you saying you support the lifestyle of everyone in Mississippi. I really doubt you support all of them.

Feel free to joke about the lanky guy, he is goofy lookin.

We won a national title in 1939... WE had enoguh resources to win it all. And you're blowing the home and home thing out of proportion. Tons of schools, especially OOC games were played at neutral sites for the benefit of both teams. People didn't have 100k stadiums back in the day.

Yeah I mean going simply by your enrollment argument alone, we would have a plethora of resources in comparison to Rice, SMU, TCU, Baylor and Arkansas. Outside of a few years in the 40s, we've always had greater numbers than every school outside of Texas. Tech passed us for a few years in the 60s, but failed.

Again. I'm simply going by your enrollment numbers method. You said it yourself. Enrollment makes alumni makes fans makes resources.

But you haven't provided any enrollment numbers. You might be right that A&M's enrollment in 20s-40s were in the top half of the SWC. I don't know, but you haven't shown that to be the case.

And it IS a big deal that we drove to Baton Rouge every damn year. If we were a major player, no way in hell we would have done that.

You do if the contract calls for it. Most likely a 15 to 20 year contract.

Are you a moron? A&M is the oldest public university in the state, and there were 4 private schools in the conference. Here I'll see what I can find.

https://www.smumn.edu/graduate-home/about-smu/history-of-smu

SMU's enrollment in 1933 was 200.
SMU's enrollment in 1948 was 500.

I'm not going any further. You're a moron.

Not sure what you're trying to say here but maybe this helps?
LSU vs TAMU
1942-1949 every year
1955 & 1956
1960-1975

I was surprised to find that you were correct in stating that almost every game was played in BR

We had the bigger stadium, the better supported school and we were a historically better team during this time period. Why would we play in College Station?

Wasn't arguing against that. Totally understand. Expected that MOST were played in BR just not pretty much all. Guess I was mostly surprised that he mentioned something that he was verifiably correct on.

Tought this was about LSU, not Virginia?

I am an LSU alumnus/part of the fanbase. UVA's logo is just my favorite logo in college athletics.

I don't think it counts as a misconception if no one gave a shite enough to misconceive in the first place.

But hey, cool graph bro!

Seems like the resource A&M was lacking prior to 1980 was a stadium large enough to host LSU.

Kyle Field only seated 48,000 until it was expanded to 70k in 1980.

Best the Aggies might have hoped for back then was to convince LSU to play in the Astrodome (that would have been memorable, no?)

I'm sure that a big part of the reason the Aggies couldn't get LSU to come to College Station. Well, that and the Aggies were turrible for most of the 60s and early 70s (which would explain why the stadium wasn't expanded until 1980).

Naturally, we quit playing the Aggies once they started having winning seasons in the 70s.

Last time I checked Alabama is the only SEC school with a conference title in every decade of its existence. And last time I check, Alabama was a winning tradition prior to even joining the SEC in 1932.
