Why Tech continues to employ PJ is mind boggling given the state they’re in.

Because Tech strives for mediocrity. It's kind of a ceiling for them.

Marshall will take a beating.

Oliver is their freshman QB. And their offense has been strong since he has been getting the majority of the snaps.

That said... UGA struggles with GT when we have a new DC face their offense. That was 2016, 2014, 2010 (UGA won but gave up over 400 yards to GT), and Paul Johnson's first year of 2008.
Notice that I didn't include 2018.

Says the fan whose team employs Paul Johnson. Don’t even try to compare the two

Georgia is way too good on offense. Even if Tech finds ways to score, they won't be able to stop the dogs from doing more of it.

In the words of Lee Corso in NCAA Football 2006

GT is the 4th military school with all three running their version of the Bone. GT should hire Mike Leach but they will stick to Paul and a who gives a shet bowl game each year.

Nah
I’d go after the coach at Kennesaw State or someone from Air Force or Army.

And that is why you are GT.

Johnson gives you 1 conference championship which you vacated in the last decade. And you ask for more cowbell.

Look...I hate the fricking bugs more than most Dawg fans...I have several termite relatives who are obnoxious as hell when they come out of the woodwork...but let's be honest. Tech is a lot more competitive and dangerous with Johnson and the triple than they are trying to compete straight up. They are NEVER going to recruit with the big boys and will never have loaded talent. But they do more with less than any other program out there.
I hope we blow doors on them, but this one always makes me nervous. It never did when Chan Gailey was there.

Are you too young to remember Bobby Ross and George OLeary?

Nope. I remember back to Pepper Rodgers.

Then I will agree to disagree.

Tech has local fans. They can get a few recruits who can help them get momentum. So much about college football is about momentum.

The right coach absolutely can win there despite the lack of alumni support.

UGA 45 Yech 24

We give up some yards because that's what we do, but we also score at will with some goober frick-ups here and there. It's probably a little too close for comfort in the first half. Yech fans tell each other they don't really care about football anyway after the game.

For some reason, I am laughing in disbelief.
Change my mind.

Win how? To what level? More than Johnson? Bobby Ross had 1 incredible season, a couple of mediocre ones and like 3 train wrecks. O'Leary and Johnson are just about the same in terms of winning %.

Can they compete for ACC championships every so often? Yes, but they are already doing that.

Tech is Tech because the powers that be doesn’t want to sacrifice academic prestige for athletic glory. At least someone still has morals
