Vince Dooley is earning his pay at Tennessee. He refuses to let anything get in the way of his job responsibilities. It's a good thing he as a law degree and high ethics, it just was Vol Nation needs right now.

Well.. then. Where's all them vols that said nothing would come of hostessgate?
And I don't see them going light on Tennessee because Kiffin is gone. Kiffin is the one who left. Tennessee did nothing to address this situation and I'm betting the NCAA will remember that in their punishment.

Glad he held the story long enough for the ink to dry on the LOIs.
Though "journalistic ethics" seems to have been taken a beating in recent years...
It would have been a major breach of what little journalistic ethics remain to release a story like this in the days before signing day.
Clay Travis rightly recognized that breaking this story (with allegations that have yet to be completely proven) could have a direct impact on recruits' decision to go to UT... resulting in a competitive disadvantage for that university. It is not the place of a OBJECTIVE journalist to create that disadvantage.
News organizations do the same thing in the days leading up to an election, intentionally sitting on potential scandals that could wrongly influence elections. This has been an informal agreement among news outlets for decades.
Some might say that Travis is a known UT fan and that his holding the story reflects his bias. In my view it is clear that his adherence to accepted industry ethics overrides that side effect.

They didn't go light on Alabama when Dubose was fired.

Don't give me the ' journalist integrity' thing about Clay Travis. Dude is a huge Tennessee fan so of course he made sure these guys signed first

Not worried. If anything we will get a slap on the wrist.

I may the only Tennessee fan that thinks Clay Travis is an absolute idiot. His books are sentimental which is good I guess but when he opens his mouth he sounds like a butthurt teenage girl. He lacks any sort of professionalism any time he has to deal with other teams' fans. Worse part is he has a 3 hour radio show now

I hate when Blaine opens his mouth. I loved him when was a Titan but he isn't smart enough to talk sports like a professional. Those guys need to put on their big boy pants in the morning and act like they are mature adults

wake me up if something happens, whether it's a slap on the wrist or a no penalty secondary violation. I think it's leaning towards the latter.
bring it on.

My opinion is that the NCAA may just say don't let it happen again. How many years was Lane there.?? exactly. Looks like you took care of the issue once you found out.. RIGHT!!! hint. hint.. hint..!!!

Couldn't happen to a better bunch. They gave em a break by not announcing until after signing day.
