Kirk Douglas’s “Ulysses” (1954) is fairly kid-friendly and covers much of the Odyssey. The Armand Assante version also works just fine for kids.
But judging from your son’s interest in the Classics, I would suggest actually reading Homer with him. No need to do it in big chunks or everyday… but what if you read the Cyclops cave episode for instance and asked him how he would have solved the problem? I’m telling you… your kid would love something like that.

All that tells me is that 5.9 million people watched a great series. Good for them!
The NHL is still healthy as a league. All hockey fans realize it’s not for everyone. But we don’t understand how people still think it’s some sort of exotic sport that no one loves. I mean, it’s been around more than 100 years. TV ratings aren’t going to sink it. Most of its revenue comes from ticket sales. Its salary cap keeps going up because the money keeps going up. What’s the problem?

The tsunami takes the cake, but generally speaking… for me… it’s massive sinkholes or mudslides. Just the sudden appearance of them… it’s always shocking.
re: Is there a glut of urgent care centers? Seems they are in nearly every shopping center

They have their time and place.
I needed to get a quick Covid test to travel internationally on a few hours notice - urgent care.
Caught the flu over the weekend and needed tamiflu- urgent care.
Needed stitches for a cut on my hand - urgent care.
Never had any problems with them… my experience is they came in handy from time to time.

Hey… kudos to that guy. He’s living life.
I want to go to a World Cup game, too… but not at those prices. Well done, random Tiger fan!

Dental care is not expensive. Dental neglect is expensive.
I get that you’re upset with a sudden blow to your pocketbook. That always sucks. But maybe there was some sort of way you could have mitigated that over the last 10 years?

Just remember... the price tag for all of Louisiana's Coastal Restoration projects in the Master Plan:
$50 billion.
That gives you an idea of the scale of this money that we are just sending straight into a wood chipper.
Provided of course this is a true number... I still don't trust anything I'm hearing yet about this"deal."

Season One is much better in tone than the following seasons. But it’s still a great show.
If I could change one thing… it’s too self referential. Go explore some things other than your feelings.
Looking forward to the next season.

Comments section full of twerps talking trash about our home field. Can’t wait to stomp a long line of those bastards in the years to come.
Man, I do t know about Paraguay, but I’ve been waiting to see the U.S. play like this for a long time.
I love it when editors in chief and lead analysts of national news outlets are 20 years younger than me and try to explain anything to me… as though I can’t see with my own eyes what’s real and what’s not.

Filoni is mad that he can’t stuff his original characters into this movie.
This has always been the thing that’s gotten me about him. So Star Wars is just supposed to be about these characters I couldn’t care less about?

Well, he’s the commander in chief of the U.S. armed forces… so…
If he didn’t salute, I’m sure we would see a post similar to yours asking why not?

I tried to like the NBA. I gave it a legitimate shot supporting my local team, and it was just a terrible product. But you know what really made me drop the NBA?
I started watching hockey.
I get that the NBA is waaaaay more popular and it’s not even close. But once you get used to hockey… you see it’s way more entertaining.

They should show episode 3 in schools. It’s mind blowing how farmers are using technology to maximize output like that. Wow.

Overall it’s good. The end has the payoff you’re waiting for the whole movie.
My nitpick is that it tells the same story from three points of view but I did not find their points of view to be significantly different enough to matter.
Other than that… solid movie.

The fallout from all of this messaging-wise has been so frustrating. The bots and media shills are in overdrive, circling the wagons around Pelley.
Have they forgotten how far into the tank 60 Minutes was for Biden and Harris? Probably not, which is why they are propping him up as a paragon of journalistic virtue.
60 Minutes was/is biased as frick toward the left of the political spectrum and it isn’t even close. To suggest a correction wasn’t badly needed is complete lunacy.

What agenda? Their agenda literally is a ticking clock… just killing time as long as possible without doing anything at all.
That’s always the GOP priority. When in power, run out the clock and hope no one notices or cares at re-election time. Not in power? Vote no… unless paid to vote yes.

The Washington Capitals. Only been to two NHL games my whole life. Both times, just by chance… it was a Caps game.
I’ve never actually seen a NHL team that I care about play in person.
