Warner raises good points, but then he always goes low brow for a cheap shot or laugh that is popular with the Tiger fan base. This makes him lose credibility as a serious writer.
Every piece he writes has mean-spirited digs at traditional nemeses of LSU.
It's good copy if you're a Tiger fan who's not into objective sports journalism.

I can't argue that as there's some of that in every piece written.
Finebaum makes a living off of flaming then sitting back and letting retards on the radio. Anything else is great sports to me lol. Seriously Finedouche is laughing all the way to the bank.

Like I said, he lives in Bama, so he is going to concentrate on them. Just like i hate OM b/c i live in MS, but i try to be a little more objective than Warren is about it. I agree with Funky Tide, he takes it too far sometimes. Just b/c he may feel a certain way about Bama, doesn't mean he has to say it. And his past articles have had Bama digs in them, so this isn't a one-time ordeal.

I fricking hate finebaum too.

Some of his points were stupid and frivolous though, look at my above post.
Like what? Y'all did pretty much get a free pass. I think UF wasn't a big surprise but the Utah fiasco should have brought a little more heat on lil' Nicky rather than have him dump it ALL on the fans and current players.

With all these talking heads, you just have to read it for what it is. They all have an agenda, either to sell copy or get listeners. Warner and Finebaum are no different. Take out the valid stuff and ignore the crap.

What the frick does "free pass" mean?? Did you want them to do a special on our Utah loss on 60 minutes or something?
Posted on 4/23/09 at 2:16 pm to Funky Tide 8
Not taking up for Bama, at the end of the day, if Bama takes a beating in the press for the loss to Utah, then what does that say of the rest of the SEC? From a national perspective, I would think we wanted that loss swept under the SEC carpet to help each school in the BCS grand picture. They went undefeated in the SEC, and loss to a non BCS school in a BCS bowl - does not look to good for the teams that ALabama beat. In the eyes of the media I would think it would be the trickle down idea.

Maybe. Do you remember when Boise beat OU? That was the beginning of mockingly calling Stoops "Big Game Bob." An undefeated regular season SEC team, whose only loss was to the eventual NC, and you get your arse handed to you buy a mid-major who shouldn't have even been on the field with you. Yeah, I'd say Saban should have gotten a little more shite than he did. But then to come out an put it on the fans and lack of depth blah, blah, blah, that was just ridiculous. He really should have taken all the blame. The problem is, I don't know if Nick ever thinks he does anything wrong. (Other than leave LSU of course.

Chris Warner is on Finebaum right now.

Finedouche is getting his shots in for you funky

Warner and Finebaum are really slamming Saban.

Talk to Jimbo Fisher off the record and you'll really hear some stories

Poor Finebaum, you know that dude NEVER gets arse.

OMG why does he let these guys keep talking?

I wish Finebaum would :choke:

Well, he also talked about Meyer, Spurrier and Ole Miss yet the only part everyone is obsessed with is the part about Saban. He's nothing more than another coach in our conference. The difference is he brought us back to prominence and now he happens to coach a division foe. Excuse the frick out of me for EVER talking about Nick.
You missed my point. I've got no problem talking about Saban, good or bad. It's the OCD need to bring him up every time we're talking about MILES's legacy that I have issues with. I think it's time we let Miles stand on his own, good or bad, "relative to" Saban.

What are they saying?
Basically he was repeating everything from his blog post about Saban. Nothing new really.
quote:
Saban is bad with public relations. Saban liked Baton Rouge better than Tuscaloosa. Saban likes to place the blame on things that he shouldn't (e.g. fans, players, other coaches). He can't keep good assistants around.
Pretty typical stuff really.
The funniest part of the interview was when Warner actually said...
quote:
You should ask Jimbo Fisher about Saban off the record.
That pretty much destroys the whole "off the record." Paul jumped on it pretty good. But Warner realized he'd said too much and probably broke Fisher's confidence by even saying this.
I will say that if Saban doesn't keep winning, this PR stuff (that he can get away with right now), will come back to haunt him. All of this is moot if he keeps winning. No one will care.
