I think the university will handle the matter justly. The bottom line is that we should withhold judgement until the facts are in.

How does withholding judgment equal the press blowing it out of proportion? The artucles I've read did not cll for any punishment. They simply reported fcts, and have been pretty good at reporting dditional facts s they came in. But the facts they have reported should give any rational person concern.

So none of the 'facts' being reported have changed? It's a question, I have only read a couple articles and really don't know the answer

No. Additional facts have come out that shed new light on the situation, but the facts themselves have not changed. I don't put much stock into her statement that she does not fear him, as many victims make similar statements once the situation goes public (fear, embarassment, and psychological issus all play a part in this). I put stock into the text itslf, as it is hard evidence of something wrong that can't be shaded by a victim's perception. Does that men he deserves to go to jail? I don't know. But threats of death alwys deserve the highest possible amount of caution and investigation.

SBnation is just a blog right, a blog by "fans".

He is off the team for now but that shouldn't be a surprise. Who knows if he is ever reinstated? We will have to wait til all the details shake out.

If he doesn't come back, how big of an impact do you think it'll make?

Not much, as I said earlier, he has been one of the most overrated players to play for UF in the last few years.

Man, that concussion messed him up! One of my buddies told me they saw him sunday in Gator Dining on campus freaking out about it being too late for breakfast at like 2pm.

It's kind of a shame to see this happen to a kid with a lot of promise, but he never really produced for Florida like they thought he would. I hope his mistakes are his mistakes, and not a by-product of his brain injury, because that would be really sad.

The woman in question is 35, and Rainey is 22, and they have been dating 3 yrs. So please stop calling her a "girl".
Rainey isn't part of the team for now. I guess there is a chance he might be reinstated, but it will take some time.

bullshite, Urbs will say some shite about looking into it. The gator fans will terrorize the WOMAN and she'll drop the charges.

Stop acting like you guys ever punish anyone.

Urbs is like a crooked politician he just gets new facts and then says the real events never occured.

Rainey wont miss any meaningful snaps

It's on already I'm sure. Can you imagine the kid from the AU field goal vid getting after her? He was firing Urbs cause he didn't (his words) "freeze" the kicker.

That dude alone could make her drop the charges.

Rainey isn't good enough for the Gator Nation to be all up in arms over. If it was Janoris, Ahmad Black, Pouncey, or someone along that lines, it would be very ugly more than likely.

Seriously though, Meyers track record with his criminals, err, players discipline is for them to NOT miss SEC games. It doesn't matter what he did. Well, maybe not, if what the Gator fans are saying about how useless Rainey has become is true, Meyer might "take a stand" this time.
