I was wondering the same thing too... We've never done that before... I wonder why they were cheering... Did the cheer leaders stupidly start something at the wrong time?
Bad form. But there were a LOT of times those guys were on the field hurt.

For a fan base that claims they are the nicest bunch, this shite was true. After the game, a ton of people were getting in each others faces. Using Tiger Bait against us, laughing in our faces, etc. I don't care about that shite, though.
Oh, and here they come telling us how the big bad LSU fans are way worse to try and rationalize the classlessness of some of their fans.

Personally, I'd be ashamed of any 'Bama fan who did this. I didn't see or hear it, but I'll take your word that you did.
You are correct that it would be completely unnacceptable. I would verbally dress down anyone in our fanbase I saw doing that.

me too. and, it DID happen. it sucked to see. that's why I really have to hope some airheaded cheerleaders we're to blame for it. mob mentality probably took over when the cheer began. I doubt THAT many people were unaware of a hurt player... no matter how bad the angle is from their section, no way they didn't know.
it was rare form for us in a bad way.

In no way would most fans believe this permeates your fan base. But is is something worthy of being brought up publicly by one of your newspaper, radio shows, etc. You just can't let behavior like that go on.

Mob mentality for sure IMO. It happens sometimes. But it also happened more than once.. it happened when Jefferson went down, and when Scott went down with a broken collar bone.

It would do THIS fan a LOT of good to hear it publically addressed. I agree. Accountability is huge to keep stupid crap like this from happening again. And you gotta be swift about it, because it doesn't take many repetitions before bad habits are formed.
Anyway, it sucked and I agree with jlc05 adamantly.
Now, off to the girl's place on my bike on a gloriously beautiul afternoon.

I'm just saying. Say LSU won. And LSU fans were screaming roll tide at you and laughing in your face everywhere you went. Wouldn't you get kind of annoyed considering the team you love just lost a heart breaker?

Of course we would.
Chicken (or some other admin) put the smackdown on me last night. I got banned for running my mouth. I deserved it.

It kind of is. Like I said, I don't really care that much. It's just funny how people bitch about LSU fans tiger baiting and the BAMA fans literally every step are in your face after a tough loss.

Yes, but it doesn't make it rude.
I agree...that stuff is in good fun...usually.

As a Tiger fan, I accept the responses from the Bama fans who are bothered by this. My advise to you is to police your own. We've got lots of knuckleheads too. We all need to do a better job keeping the idiots in line.

Been to Alabama probably 10 or 15 times. Was really surprised by the fan behavior yesterday. That was a new experience for me with that fan base. I was stunned by the booing of our players who were injured, even when they were being helped off the field by trainers. It wasn't a "few fans", it wss the entire stadium. The walk back to the car was incredible also. The number of "F you LSU" that we heard from the DJ's at the tailgates was almost comical. The comments about them having Saban and us having our "retarded coach", the encouragement to take our "bayou trash" out of their town, all very surprising. Several Bama fans walking along with us apologized and said they were embarrassed by the behavior of their fans. Not sure what the deal was and why they were so nasty yesterday. I guess it's been so long since they beat us there, they were taking out some frustration. Talked to many LSU fans at the hotel who had the same experience.

I think you're right in that a lot of frustration was released but that's no excuse for our fans being jack#####. The booing that occurred on LSU's last offensive series when your lineman was walking off the field injured happened because most thought he was faking it to stop the clock. Having said that, you have to give a player the benefit of the doubt that he was actually injured as it appeared he (unlike Peterson and his 322 injuries throughout the game that kept mysteriously going away) was. I was in the southwest lower bowl and when the TD occurred with the injured player in the end zone most of the people around me didn't even realize there was an injury for a good two minutes after the play. However, most of the stadium could see the field though. The cheers were poorly timed and I remember cringing when they started the ALA.....BAMA chant at that time. The southern half of the stadium was doing the cheer while the northern half didn't seem to be participating as the injury was on their end. Awful timing by the cheerleaders.
I also don't get the hostility some of our fans had/have towards LSU. You guys give our fanbase hell but so does UT, Auburn, and others so we're use to that. All in all, we were in rare overly hostile form last night. It wasn't our best night as a fanbase (other than bringing the noise when our D needed it).

The eyewitness posts continue. Shame on you Bama fans. Unacceptable.
I don't condone it, and I would like to think they were cheering about something else. '
But dude, in all seriousness, one of your players was hurt almost every four of five plays.
