Tim Tebow was born that year and Emmitt Smith was a freshman. I was in my 6th year of college. Times were good!
I remember the Sports Illustrated blurb in the back about the RB Florida had signed out of Escambia and how fast he was ... but who wudda thunk it?
This one is better ... Tuscaloosa was the Game of the Week.

Jimmies were definitely not rustled ... clearly the OP never had his arse whooped by his pappy, only his superiors. The Internet sometimes brings out the snobs ... and Ole Miss, while I loved going to the games and still pull for them often, some of their fans have no reason to be snobs. They could take a lesson from Gamecock fans ... I've been to every single SC vs Ole Miss game since 1972 (13) home and away and neither team had a whole lot to be snobby fricks about during those years. That's every game we've played against one another in our history except one and that one was 1947.
I've been to Bama games in the sixties and seventies, Georgia games since I was a kid and too many Tennessee games to remember.
If you loved good football, you watched the SEC no matter who you were or are still to this day.

Yep. The SEC was special then and it's special now. It's what makes this conference just incredibly unique. The different cultures of the fans, the enthusiasm of the fans, the colorfulness of the schools and traditions, the success, in all sports and of course the unequaled "tailgating" throughout the conference.

Yes I am and we were lucky to have that. CFB was not covered then like now.funny how you forget how much you didnt get to see your favorite teams like you do now but I had almost forgotten. LSU fan at least had tiger vision but there wasn't much to see back then.

Better until they mentioned the broadcast sponsor...
That was my point ... only Pabst Blue Ribbon would have made it better.

yes, I remember, seems like only yesterday...
We got 1 LSU game per year on tv, it was always against Bama and of course it was in black and white..

I was at the Chucky Mullins game too, met John Vaught, groved w Billy Brewer and Archie and cried both times UT cost us the SEC. Clearly your thoughts have been festering for some time to react so childishly to a silly comment I made recognizing that this video took place prior to their entry of the conference. How long have you been holding all that in? And what was your point, got kind of lost.

Yes, I remember that. Craig Sager dressed like a normal person then.

Remember these days well. Up until that time ABC had one game on Saturday. Bob Neal and Tim Foley called games and we saw players and teams you wouldn't have seen. Kent Austin, Glen Fohr, Bill Ransdell, Emmitt. All great players on teams that ABC might not pick up. I think TBS had as much to do with changing the SEC overall as anyone with the weekly coverage of SEC ball.
