How many of those are self sustained programs? Meaning no help from the university, state etc. LSU is. Our football program actually gives loans to the university.
Bama absolutely is

You have a gross misunderstanding of LSU versus TAF.

Holy shite, we are worth $231 million per win.

Check endowments:
Texas A&M - $10 Billion
Texas University - $5 Billion
LSU - 845 Million (with a M)
This is real value as in investments versus paper value like a paper tigger!

Well, no wonder Alabama gets to cheat without being punished anymore.

A&M does not have the brand recognition. This is what drives the value. People pull for the Cowboys who have been irrelevant for 20 years.
Clemson has two national championships in the last 4 years and it significantly lower than the Aggies. The gentleman who did the calculation may be off a hair.
There are a lots of sports writers that give extra credit to the glory teams of their childhood. Explains some Domer and Longhorn love without knowing anything about their current state...year in and year out. These type of teams always get bumps in the preseason polls. It is the way it is.

If these numbers were true, the top schools should sell to investors and put the money into their endowment.

If you post the list...no one needs to check in

You can tout all you want about money blah blah, but until you ACTUALLY you know win something, everybody just laughs at you while you beat your chests.

How in the hell can they say LSU is "worth" 850,000,000 fricking dollars when it was just two years ago that the Governor threatened to shut down their athletic department for leaching off the Louisiana taxpayers?
Sounds like some frickery is afoot to me. I wouldn't be surprised if they're involved in some sort of fraud to be honest. It's par for the course in Louisiana politics.
LSU athletics runs off of TAF, not tax payers. The governor said you can't have a football team without a school. Our athletics program gives money back to the school. not the other way around. TAF has a lot of money.

Now, I can check in on either of those.

You might want to use the whole sentence...year in and year out.
It was not meant as a slam to anyone. It is simply a fact that lazy sports writers and poll voters many times vote on the past without doing any research of the present. It is the way it is.
