The endowment is composed of contributions from multiple sources. His quoted endowment is not just a promise it is a direct contributor to the overall. It’s not hard to find this information.

You’re literally only naming one investment.

Do it.

So you think the athletics foundation, the Bush Library foundation, the alumni association foundation, and the entire A&M System (or even a majority) belongs to the academic side of Texas A&M-College Station?

That is his argument.

The Texas A&M Foundation is only the charitable organization that funnels money into the much larger endowment (10.52 billion - LINK). Of the nearly 4 billion from the foundation only 8% of that is to the 12th Man Foundation ( LINK).

I think you’re getting confused as to what the Texas A&M Foundation is.

Wrong. The foundation manages the endowment assets of College Station.

If it "funnels" that money to a larger endowment manager, what is the name of that organization?

Holy shite, you are claiming that $3.24 billion as belonging to the A&M Foundation.

Your reading comprehension is terrible.

Hit the foundation financials tab, NOT the fundraiser that benefits multiple (yet separate) organizations.

Here is what you will find:

You really are a troll.

From their website:
quote:

The Texas A&M Foundation is a nonprofit organization that exists for the benefit of Texas A&M University. As the primary academic fundraising institution for Texas A&M, we inspire philanthropy to support this unique American institution and share in its promising future.

Now, the foundation reported 1.995 billion for 2018 - you’re right about that. The 3.24 billion the foundation has managed is over a longer time period.

It is all literally right there. If you can’t understand it, go troll somewhere else. But hey you can just hold true to that one number you always pull up and forget about the big picture.

Wrong again. The $3.24 billion is a fundraiser that has benefited multiple entities besides academics, of which that fundraiser has helped the total College Station endowment managed by the foundation increase to $1.99 billion.

Moreover, that $3.24 billion is not in cash, some of it is pledged gifts over many years, or even on the donor's death.

No need to tell me what it’s for. I already showed you ( LINK). Only 8% goes to athletics. And to reiterate this only the charitable arm of the entire endowment.

Also, wrong again about future donations. The 3.24 billion is comprised of gifts given before Sep 30, 2018.

Also to cite US News again:
quote:

Below is a list of the 10 universities with the largest endowments at the end of fiscal year 2017. Endowments were examined by campus, not across public university systems. Unranked schools, which did not meet certain criteria required by U.S. News to be numerically ranked, were not considered for this report.

quote:

End of fiscal year 2017 endowment: $10,808,501,077

This is all public data. I’m done with you.

Thipose are based on surveys. Somebody called John Sharp's office and asked him how big the aggy endowment was.

He spewed $10-plus billion and somebody took him at face value. I'm surprised the lying son of a bitch didn't try to include the 2/3 portion of the UT System, too.

Of those schools listed in your supposed endowment league (MIT, Harvard, Michigan), you are ranked No. 66 in the country, academic-wise. That is one red flag.

The aggy foundation manages a total of $1.99 billion. You are inflating that figure with the A&M System endowment. That is the second red flag.

Your budget is only $1.88 billion (compared to $3.1 billion for UT Austin). That is the third red flag.

All of your financials show nowhere near $10 billion for a College Station endowment. It is a lie and you should be ashamed at your administrators for lying.

Here is a list of "richest colleges and universities" from 2016.

LINK

You will notice that the UT System is No. 2 at $24 billion, while the A&M System is in the top 10 at $10-plus billion.

Clearly, this is a gross misrepresentation to include system-wide endowments in a comparison to single-campus institutions. It makes me squirm to see UT on such a list.

But lo and behold, aggy clearly doubled down and dropped "system" for "College Station" in subsequent reports, while The University of Texas totally disappeared.

That is a shameful act that completely fits your inflated history of fake-army heroics and retroactive national championships claimed when you thought no one was looking, when you entered the SEC.

Aggy is a disgusting lot with few morals who have shown repeatedly that they cannot sustain a winning football team without wiping their arse with the NCAA rule book.

Not only are you accused liars, you are convicted liars. What once was a regional joke becomes national, day by day.

Wow, Ohio State dropped almost half a billion from 2017 to 2018. What would cause such a huge drop as that. Entire FB stadiums don't cost $500 million.....

You are either incredibly dishonest or incredibly stupid. Actually, my money is on both.

You keep ignoring the fact that the Texas A&M Foundation is a charitable organization.
quote:

With that in mind, your entire argument is that the only endowment funds available to Texas A&M is through donations.

That is laughable.

31 billion is the UT system of which they get 2/3 of the state's 37 billion PUF. TAMU's system endowment in 13.5 billion.

Translate this for me? I'm a little slow.

So how much does UT get?
