There is a reason why Barry Odom was fired. He hired Dooley as an OC. The offense sucked and bringing in Kelly Bryant failed to work. Made some boneheaded decisions. The AD hired Drinkwitz as the next head coach. He is a lot better than Barry Odom. Drinkwitz is going to be running the offense. That should help a lot on the offense. Mizzou retained most of the defense coaches. Drinkwitz have hired some good staff so far. I am very happy with the hired and him hiring the new coaching staff. Mizzou should be a lot better on offense next year and the defense shall be about the same. Offense is what hurt Mizzou. Mizzou should be a better football team next year. The AD didn't fired Barry Odom to hire a new head coach to be at Barry Odom level or worst. Ole Miss and Arkansas also have hired head coach that should be better than the previous head coach. Mizzou, Ole Miss, and Arkansas made an upgrade at the head coach level that have better assistants over the last head coach.
We will find out in a couple of years if all three have made the right hired.

Yes Barry Odom was the problem. He failed to hire good offensive coordinator. Did you know Heupel said he hate recruiting. He let others do most of the recruiting. Look at UCF recruiting class for this year. Average star rating below 3.0. He also got his quarterback hurt and may never play quarterback again. That is telling you he was good only because he had Frost players and then UCF started to lose games now. Mizzou is going to be better with Drinkwitz as head coach. Drinkwitz will be running the offense. Not the OC. Very similar to Gus but even better.
Also why many Mizzou fans didn't go to the games? Because of Barry Odom! He wasn't a very good head coach! Now with an offense minded head coach to get the offense going in the right direction fans will start to enjoy good football at Missouri.
