Eddie Moore: "I have Coach Fulmer's cell number and I know even if it's years since I've seen him I can call him. I was just at Coach Chavis's house recently to have dinner and that's the type relationship I have with those guys. The whole time I was at Coach Chavis's, all he talked about was his days at UT. I could see in his eyes that he misses it. He misses it a whole lot. He didn't want to leave there, but he had to and he's done big things at a new place. But you can tell Tennessee is still a special place for him."

It really is sad how he had to leave the place he loved so much, but I am so glad he ended up at LSU.

Well no shite, he played there and coached there forever. Why wouldn't he love the school?

He played and coached there. Who wouldn't in that case?

While it is probably true that Chavis misses Tennessee, what else is he gonna talk about with Eddie Moore?

East Tennessee is a pretty great place to live. I used to travel up that way for business all the time. Last week I bought a car from a dealer in Lenoir City and drove up there to pick it up from ATL. Loved the drive through the rolling hills. Also used to love the business people up that way I dealt with. I could see a major attachment to the locale.

Having said that, LSU is a pretty special place too. Chavis is blessed to have a great career. Perhaps he retires from LSU and moves back to the smokies?

Miles still loves Michigan. HBC still loves Florida. Folks move forward and embrace new opportunities. Chief and LSU are a great combo.

Sometimes you have to cut ties with people and places you like when you get tired of losing all the time.

Except during the season with the endless bitching and moaning about the Chavis defense.

Chavis, Fulmer and Caldwell all have cabins close to each other in Gatlinburg.
