I also really like the fact that this is from an Atlanta based company. I trust a southern company in the same town as the CFB HOF to do this justice if anybody will.

I think it would be difficult going after the company for allowing customization that would in turn allow users to create the NCAA rosters. I guess there is an argument there but I don't think it is a very strong one.

agreed, i just remember feeling a little surprised the judge was as tough on the editing aspect as they were.

So what? People can sue for anything. Doesn't mean their case has any merit.

That is true, but the problem is this is the sort of issue where you will be held accountable for the mistakes of others.

So even if there is no merit to the lawsuit on the face of it, some judge might allow it simply because she is sympathetic to the players not getting paid and wants to do their part.

I wouldn't want those crosshairs on my company.

I remember reading about this when it was just an idea. I had my doubts but they actually look like they are taking this very seriously and it is nice to just see another company try, even if it doesn't work out.

Ya, I would just attribute that to the subjective nature of the judge.

I have a feeling we will get our answer if this game becomes big enough.

Can't imagine they will survive any lawsuit

They could make up teams like the Alabama Chargers play the Louisiana Swamp Gators or something stupid like that

You are confusing different things here. The issue wasn't with the schools, it was with the players. They are working to get the licenses.

The issue the entire system of amateurism when the colleges are making tens of millions a year off of football.

This just happens to be the best legal angle for activist judges to try and attack that system.

Yeah good point.

You also have lawyers looking for a payday, journalists looking to be "principled" (especially if it helps their relationships with recruits), and people who don't like college football who just want to see it be taken down a peg.
