Then the programs outside the SE need to get off their dead azz and compete.
Truth is the Souteast and Southwest will take over what is left of college football in these coming years.
Both the Left coast and the northeast are already done.

Did you watch the game?
Fair point. Still I would think the novelty of Michigan being in the playoff would count for more

I think it’s the other way around.
The NFL doesn’t care what CFB does. The NFL crushes anything in its path ratings wise.
I remember when the NFL started Thursday night games and the networks were shitting themselves but what are you going to do? You're not beating the NFL

I’m pretty sure the NFL has language in their contracts that would prohibit ESPN from having Playoff games the same day. Like if you want to business with us (MNF) we’re your first date.
But obviously the networks would never want to dilute everything anyways, so moot point

NBA literally moved back their Monday TNT games to later in the year because they’d just get smoked by MNF. It’s crazy how much power that league has

Michigan is a massive Brand. Arguably larger than Bama or Georgia. I don’t think it has anything to do with the SE, north etc and everything to do with it being on New Year’s Eve

Certainly the Bama-Cincy matchup wasnt moving the needle but UGA-Michigan should have been higher. Not sure why it wasnt.
Because Michigan was never in the game so the casual viewers didn’t tune in mid-game

Same shite different year. College football has killed the golden goose. All the resources go to same 3-4 teams. Unless you’re a Bama fan its boring having Bama win it every year. Zzzzzzzz
If the NFL was structured the way college football is, instead of getting the 32nd pick in the first round for winning the Super Bowl, you get to choose 15 first round picks and then let the other teams fight for the scraps while you suite up to win another title. No salary cap, no draft. Just whoever invested the most money running wild. The gap in recruiting is so crazy now, it feels like the season is already decided after signing day. You may not be guaranteed to win it all, but your chances are significantly better than everyone else when you got that much talent sucked up to one team.Bama wins it all last year and hauls in 7 5-star prospects for the their class that year, according to 247. Like, why even play the game anymore if you got teams that fricking stacked. UGA and Bama are in the title game and they have 65% of all the 5 star talent in the SEC on those two teams

Speak with your President and AD regarding their inability to get the Tigers to page one.
How about your president and AD give us some tips on how Saban cheats so well. If even chubby visor douche was privy, you can help your old buddies down the road catch up.

It's pretty crazy that 44% of the teams making the playoffs doesn't kill their regular season viewership. I'm told an increase to 9% of teams in the CFP will seriously hurt the college regular season.

Well people, including Alabama fans, tried to tell people all these rules to "stop Alabama" would actually have the opposite effect and that they were dumb.
But nooooooooo, it was just Saban and Alabama fans crying because that new rule was certainly going to be the end of Alabama.
College football choose this, not us. And they are just going to continue making it worse.

^honestly believes Auburn is the greatest in everything and anyone who is better much be cheating.
That's why you are a loser sir. If you want things to change, rather than blaming others you need to take responsibility and improve your own.

What is going to happen to Alabama fans when the inevitable post Saban fall from grace happens? The arrogance that many of you speak with because your football team is winning games comes across as some weird veil of perceived superiority.

The rules were shitty regardless. They all have the opposite effect and make the rich richer. They are bad for college football.
While people are off pretending the NCAA is slavery for example, many of those rules existed for competitive reasons, not because of greed. Greed is what is tearing it apart now.
Other than that, tell me you've only been watching football since 2000 without telling me you've only been watching football since 2000.

I continually hear "just wait till Sabans gone and y'all suck" comments from every fan base in America.
I'm 56 years old ... and I've watched Alabama win National Titles in the 60's, 70's, 90's, 00's and 10's and 20's.
They've won the SEC at least once in every decade.
Alabama may slip back some when Saban retires..but trust me..Alabama isn't going away

Because the NFL has relative parity among teams. Every game is, or at least should be, competitive.
That ain't the case in college where 10 or so teams have the lions share of elite talent every year, and can coast to 9 or 10 wins in talent advatange alone. Expand the playoffs, and you'll just get those teams over and over every year.

2 lame duck matchups this year was the cause for that. No one that watches college football actually thought cinny and Michigan had a chance at making the finals
Posted on 1/4/22 at 2:02 pm to Relham10
The current playoff format is a joke. Either have a real playoff and get rid of the shitty bowls (or leave them...this isn't really about them anyway) or go back to the BCS.
This current one foot in one foot out bullshite is ridiculous.

Most surprising thing is that the Georgia-Michigan game only beat Bama-Cincinnati by 400,000 viewers. Thought the gap would be much wider considering how many more fans Michigan has compared to Cincinnati.
