Auburn’s coaching search is entering a new phase now that the regular season is over, and the idea that Lane Kiffin could be the next coach has sailed.

quote:

Now the Tigers reportedly will turn to a Plan B or a Plan C, college football insider Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports reports that there has been pushback from the Auburn administration given the Kiffin news that came out late last week. “Plan A was Lane; Plan B was (Hugh) Freeze. Don’t know if Auburn had a Plan C. Bears watching”

We tried to tell the Auburn folks this 3 weeks ago. They will end up with Pontiac or Grimes.

Glad you got to keep Lane. I think he fits in better at Ole Miss anyway. Finally maturing although I do think he will start looking again in a couple years. Auburn will end up with a good coach in the end. Not exactly sure who that is at this point.

Probably someone with SEC experience. Chad Morris comes to mind

CFB insider

What’s funny is you’re too gullible to realize this “CFB insider” is almost certainly none other than Jimmy Sexton who’s been the source in all these stories from the start. He pushes these stories, they’re picked up by a media desperate to have a scoop, then it’s picked up by gullible fools and passed along on social media and the message boards where other gullible fools believe every word of the story because it fits the narrative they support. The story blows up, the coach in question gets some more money added to his contract, and in turn Sexton gets a bigger piece of the pie from said contract.

Your thread is only the latest example of Sexton playing his grinder organ and you playing the part of his dancing monkey on a leash.

No. I just have little patience for ignorance. And the AU coaching story has been overrun with ignorance since the start. It’s like people on here have never seen a coaching search before. The number one rule of coaching searches is believe nothing until the new coach is announced. Anyone who knows anything about coaching searches, especially in the SEC where Sexton represents just about everyone, is he will use these coaching searches to get his clients more money which in turn makes him more money. He does this literally every time a job comes open in the SEC.

He does it even when a job doesn't come open in the SEC.
I've hated the son-of-a-bitch since he had Tuberville playing games almost 20 years ago.

I get what you are saying but no school will ever admit they didn't hire their first choice. No offer is ever offered unless terms are agreed before hand. So the only way to get the actual story is to find trusted sources and piece the puzzle together.

The stuff over the last week doesn't fit the narrative that Lane was trying to get a pay raise. He had the extension from OM before the Arkansas game and before the leaks. I think there was enough back and forth that Auburn thought he was the guy and Lane thought he was going to Auburn. Something happened at the last minute that gave him cold feet. There is plenty of room for interpretation on that.

Good point. I'd hate to think about how many times I made you cry yourself to sleep over your meltdowns that have ensued over me hurting your feelings with facts

Since you're wrong about everything, I take that as a compliment. Just like these hilarious prognostications:

OU is going to completely whip your useless squad
quote:

You are right. We should leave - anything to avoid dealing with those burnt orange bitches again. The best part about living out of state is I don't have to deal with those losers. Or any sooners either

I'm perfectly fine with leaving this sorry sack of sellouts.
quote:

Looks like the Texas boosters put Sark back in line. What a shite show! They will be lucky to win six games
Funny. Seems like A&M was the one that would've been lucky to win 6 games

But at least you were telling the truth about some things:
quote:

Don't feel sorry for us. It's just the life of an A&M football fan. I've accepted that we will never win a championship in football in my lifetime.

See you never, ColoradoReject
