I have happily acknowledged Alabama’s cheating ways.
There’s not a single fricking thing you can do about it, either.
The difference between us and you is that when we cheat, we get what we want. When you cheat, you get told no and have a losing season.

A true winner will never attend auburn. auburn is where people with under-dog syndrome plays to try and bring down Bama. Not win championships. People that REALLY know auburn will know this.....I find players that go to auburn usually have low character or just get paid enough to play. but quit when times get hard.

1-11-1957 - Illegal Recruiting Inducements:
Placed on probation for the 1957, 1958, and 1959 seasons, including a TV and post-season ban in 57 and 58. No scholarship reductions were implemented.
4-21-1958 - Illegal Recruiting Inducements:
Added one year to the existing probationary window and extended the TV and post-season bans through the 1960 season. New penalties included no NCAA voting and committee privileges during probationary period.
5-11-1979 - Extra benefits; improper recruiting contacts, entertainment, inducements, lodging, publicity and transportation; excessive number of official visits; tryouts; questionable practice; certification of compliance. Violations included providing recruits and their parents with cash, clothing, paid travel, and the free use of automobiles. Penalties included forcing the university to show cause why more penalties should not be imposed if institution does not disassociate four representatives from recruiting.
11-13-1980 - Improper recruiting contacts, entertainment, inducements, lodging and transportation: A rogue booster appears to have been involved this time, with the committee on infractions stating, "The penalty would have been greater were it not for the fact that the committee was satisfied that no athletic staff members were involved in the violations. Further, on December 11, 1979, when violations by the involved booster became known to the head football coach, he immediately acted on his own initiative to disassociate the booster from any further recruiting activities on behalf of the university."
Violations included providing cash to a recruit in exchange for his signing a letter of intent, purchasing a recruit's complementary football tickets at more than face value, and providing meals, transportation, and lodging to recruits, their family, and in one case, girlfriend, and improper contact with a recruit. The previous probationary period was extended to include the 1981 season with no additional TV or postseason ban.
8-18-1993 - Cash and unsecured loans provided to student-athletes as extra benefits; lack of institutional control; unethical conduct:
Violation Summary:
EXTRA BENEFITS: athletics representatives provided at least $4,000 in cash and merchandise; assistant coach provided $500; administrative assistant provided several thousand dollars in cash payments; athletics representative approved a $9,200 and several other unsecured loans based upon future earnings as professional athletes; student-athletes allowed to enroll with outstanding accounts with the university.
LACK OF INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL. UNETHICAL CONDUCT. ERRONEOUS CERTIFICATION OF COMPLIANCE. Penalty Summary: Public reprimand; annual reports; reduction from 25 to 14 initial grants for 1993-94, 1994-95 and 1995-96; reduction from 88 to 86 total grants for 1993-94 and from 85 to 83 for 1994-95 and 1995-96; permanent disassociation of former assistant coach, former administrative assistant and two athletics representatives; separation of duties of head football coach and athletics director; recertification.

I don’t think Maye ever had any serious interest in Alabama, but he certainly used us to get a better offer from UNC. I don’t blame him.
He was committed to Bama for months.
He was also one of the top QBs in the country and a UNC legacy, he didn’t need to “use” Bama to get a Carolina offer.

I didn’t write the article or the book, and I didn’t name Auburn. CBS did. Take it up with them.
