ETA: And San Fran as the 15th best places to live? Who in the hell can afford to live is San Fran these days?

I’m thinking the list isn’t geared towards the poors.

For the creation of this ranking, Niche researchers factored in good public schools, affordable costs of living, low crime rates and the overall satisfaction of their residents, culling data from the U.S. Department of Education, the Census Bureau, the FBI and public-sentiment polling.

Affordable costs of living is one of the things they supposedly factored into their list. And it ain't just poors that can't afford to live in San Fran.

Now this is a strange list and I'm a little bit stunned my old hometown (Sandy Springs)ended up in the top 20.

Great place to grow up in the 80's but not so much now.

Lived in Russia and present day Ukraine for 7 years. College Station is by far one of the top 50 Stalinist architecture communities around.

Sir, this is a south eastern conference football forum. We give about as much of a frick what CBS thinks about anything. As we do to what can be found inside of the favorite magazine of Texas A&M fans.....Honcho Illustrated.

Coward Station ranked higher than any other SEC Town.

These are the types of things Aggie fans are forced to brag about on a sports message board because their actual sports teams can't win anything.

I scrolled for just a few seconds until I saw Gainsville ranked ahead of St. Pete and knew enough of my time has been wasted on this shift list.

So you are too f'ing lazy to do your homework.

You are wrong. So now is the time for your dumb arse to attack the list.

I didn't want to waste my time scrolling 50 times to get to the #1 city, Austin. But now that I know that they actually ranked College Station above Austin I'm doubly glad I didn't give them the clicks in the first place.

And you did exactly what I said you would do.

Poor, dumb-arsed insecure sip.

Fans of Snowflake U are going to have a rough time in the SEC.

The fact that they have Sunnyvale, Santa Clara and SF, CA all on the list that high shows they have no idea what they are talking about.

I spent 20 years living and working right there and there is no way in hell that those should make the list. Laughable.

They talk about parks and such, yet you can't go because they are all full of homeless people and then cost of living...holy crap. Add in SF crime and it is a joke.

They they top themselves by putting Berkeley on there and saying 'good public schools'. They are notoriously horrible.

Crime?

I mean, it is safer than 3% of US cities.

In short, this list is garbage and the highly ranked cities on it are garbage. Take that for what you will

I know a guy that staffs about 20 people in NW Arkansas for a vendor for WalMart.
He said it is very very hard to get employees to transfer there from other parts of the country.
But once the do they do not and alot of times will not leave.

thats funny, I lived in Katy, Texas for 20 years and traveled around the state on weekends.

Every town I visited referred to College Station as a shithole, unless I was interested in cows.

Having been to Omaha and Fayetteville I gotta agree. Never been to Columbia so I won’t speak on that one but Omaha was nice though.
