It's over for this country when white men join the Oppression Olympics.

Everyone is so desperate to be a victim they will reach for anything.

Being a Bama has nothing to do with race, but the fact you immediately thought it did speaks to your character. It's sad you got like 50 up votes too.

Sack up man.

Exactly. No one under 20 gets this reference that Brown made.
It has no meaning to anyone.

James Brown = old

He meant that if it was called the Bama bowl people would laugh at it.

Being a "Bama" is considered country, uncool or slow or behind the times.

It's just East Coast slang by those who still think we live on farms and walk dirt roads etc.

he commented during the half time CBS panel discussion that the term Bama Bowl wouldn't go over very well in the hood.

Everyone knows the hood is the cradle of civilization with all their scholars and renaissance men.

How many victories did he lead them to over Bama?

I’m sure James drives home every day to his crib in the hood.

I’m sorry you’re scared, but I’m white, and I’ll say any god damn thing I feel like saying.

so applying bama as a derogatory adjective is just another example of northern arrogance/snobbery?
nothing new here.

life is too short to listen to football analysts. even about football.

So, it's OK to label something slow as"Bama", but we can't call a virus that originated in China as the Chinese Flu, because that's racist.

Got it.
