Because they are #13 in the RPI and 7-4 vs Groups 1/2 of the new Tournament Metric. On top of that their losses are to #4, #5, #6 and #21 and they have wins over #9, #10 and #33.

Too much basketball left to play.
Need to see which teams continue to develop, and which teams have already peaked.
Our best player has been on the bench all season, and we can't stay healthy for shite. It's bad enough they're the youngest team in the country as it is, but the got that name on their chest so they have to buck up.
AU hustles. The need to play over their average talent level they possess, and have so far vs. a 84 SOS rating. Needless to say, they will NOT be a 2 seed. If they hang on the rest of the season, they will likely be a 7-8 seed.

By what service? Most have AU with a top 40 SOS.

Maybe not a 2 seed but Auburn won't be low enough for a 7-8 seed and will be higher seeded than Kentucky.
