You and I both know it has nothing to do with the catch.

How?
What do you mean?
We can just get all reference to LSU out of that painting... of an A&M player....making a great catch.

It’s not like he had it commissioned. It was a gift.
The catch was spectacular regardless of opponent or even situation.

It reminds me of the painting of Tennessee’s 13 men on the field that hangs over the LSU OPs center

It will always be about the desperation of A&M. You’ve unsuccessfully tried to leave the failures of the past behind and move to the SEC. A&M couldn’t help themselves, and A&M’d all over the fricking conference.
I’d like to share a story that I think really encapsulates A&M.
I, an LSU graduate and business owner, was having a conversation with one of my best employees that happens to be an Arkansas graduate. We were talking about hunting, and how much we enjoy it. Through pressure from men I respect greatly in my family, I agreed to allow an A&M student to intern at our company. Well, this guy was always a bit of a kiss arse, but I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. He happened to overhear our conversation and walked over. He started to interject and question why we would kill any animal for sport. Keep in mind this is an intern, talking to an owner and top salesman. I entertained him for a while, but he continued to push the his point that hunting is wrong, regardless of why you do it. He finally became frustrated and said, don’t you think they’re beautiful animals? To which I replied, yes. I really enjoy watching them. Right before I put a broad head right behind their shoulder blade. He scuffled off in a tiff, and quickly returned to school.
My point is, A&M would do well to learn the value of humility. In all my years in business, I’ve never come across a more arrogant group of people that truly are convinced they’ve figured it all out while the rest of us flounder in mediocrity, waiting for the vaunted A&M to show them the way.
I may sometimes act like an a-hole here, but the greatest gift anyone ever gave me was humility.

I’m sure there was and will be an opportunity to use that against me
This thread, I’m afraid, will not be the case

Honestly, I wondered the same thing. I think the game being on Thursday has a LOT to do with that.

Aggie Ring? Yes I did.
Why? Did somebody do a painting of one and hang it somewhere?

Several years ago, I interviewed with a Houston based company. The guy that interviewed me was a Texas native, and the conversation quickly went to college football. When I told him I was an LSU alum, he brought up the rumors of A&M entering the SEC. I told him that I believed they'd be a great fit.
He warned me. He told me that you could find a group of aggy talking about their team as if they were about to play for a championship when they were actually in the middle of a 6 win season.
Son of a bitch was right.

You could have saved a bunch of time and just typed "I'm mad."
