I’m kind of curious as to whether it’s just me(in part due to being a SC can) or if this season has been exceptionally boring so far. I mean, we’re 1/4 of the way through the season and I seem to remember at least a few years in which opening weekend alone had more excitement than we’ve seen in all three weeks of this season combined. Not a lot of top notch matchups. No big upsets that do anything at all to the college football landscape. I mean, sure there have been a few upsets and it has been funny, but nothing that really changes what we expect out of the rest of the season or impacts any roads to championships. It seems like the only close games have been between mediocre teams(except maybe LSU/texas)...even Auburn/Oregon probably didn’t display top-notch teams.

I always try to avoid over-reacting and wait to see the entire season unfold before judging it, but it will have to get a lot better going forward to even be decent based on what we’ve seen so far. There may be a handful of games that I’m genuinely excited about outside of SC’s games, whereas in the past I remember being excited about multiple matchups almost every week. So is it just me or is anyone else in a similar boat this year??

1) most of the big schools have played cupcakes so far and we aren't really into conference play yet. The games will pick up eventually but so far pretty boring

2) There is a very clear cut top 6 (clem, bama, uga, lsu, ou, osu) then a massive dropoff. Potentially include texas if you want but then you've still got 7 then a big dropoff. Point being, there doesn't seem like a lot of drama this year. You've got those main 7 contenders then everyone else.

I have seen the birth of an explosive LSU offense, watched them torch a top ten team on the road that wouldnt shut up, and we just got Ingram back.

Im not bored at all

No. I barely watched much this weekend even though I was home most of the day with hardly any plans. Didn't even watch the 4th quarter of the Bama game.

I'll be away from the TV most of the say this Saturday and I'm not even mad about it. Seasons' past I'd be hating life all this week.

Burrow is gone after this season, so I'm thoroughly enjoying every minute.

I agree, but the big kick off games this year were non existent. A couple years ago it seemed like every top program was playing another power 5 opponent in a neutral site game all in week 1. There are still some good games sprinkled in there and more spread out. But, conference games are much bigger now than ever before. This week has some really good match ups that can essentially eliminate teams from the playoff.

Utah - USC
michigan-wisconsin

well, even as an LSU fan, I'll agree this season has been pretty meh overall.

We've discovered the forward pass. Apparently we did so by ceasing practicing pass defense, which aided Burrow's development but means everyone we play will also have career games.

It will start to pick up soon. This week alone we have Michigan-Wisconsin, Auburn-A&M, Notre Dame-Georgia, Florida-Tennessee... of wait, I forgot the '90s are over. Texas-Oklahoma State could be a good one. Utah-USC, Ole Miss is looking to upset an undefeated and ranked PAC12 team.

Next week we got Arizona State-Cal as a nice Friday appetizer. Mack Brown-Clemson would be an epic upset, although unlikely. Washington State-Utah, Virginia-Notre Dame.

Then we really get into the meat of the SEC schedule. Florida-Auburn, Florida-LSU, Alabama-A&M, LSU-Auburn, WLOCP, TSIO (hahaha), then November is when dreams begin to die.

Yes.

I had just gotten married on Sept 1st, and went on my honeymoon. Missed the first 3 weeks of the season

3 of those are likely blowouts - Utah over USC, Wisconsin over MIchigan, and UGA over Notre Dame. A&M/Barn should be a decent game. Who knows on Texas/Ok St, though I lean a Texas winning pretty easily.

I guess what I’m reading is:

1.) we all agree that this is most boring 3 weeks of college football in recent memory

2.) we all hope/assume that it’ll get better

3.) how much better remains to be seen

I’m pretty happy with the season. New fun to watch offense. Defensive struggles keeping me awake at night so it’s kinda nostalgic even though I’m used to worrying over our offense.

Even if they are blowouts, they will start separating the contenders and pretenders. I think all of these games will be fun to watch.

-this is one of Utah's trap games
-would love to watch Wisconsin blow out Michigan (this will be prime big 10 football)
-ND, 100% eliminated with a loss
-UT and Ok st fighting for a seat in the title game
