That was the worst. But our program didn't collapse after that. Were never really nationally elite again, but didn't collapse.
Very similar to 21-0 and after for LSU football.

LOL - it's actually a pretty similar comparison after too. LSU didn't totally fall apart as a program, but they haven't been back like that again either.
Either way, what's happening now is soul sucking. Even when you know it's coming.

You clearly seem to be stuck on things happening on the field. I mean, losing in a national title game sucked. But that was 21 years ago. A lot of shite has happened to the program since then that’s added up to what they are now.

The main difference (and I know you know better) is that LSU Football won 2 BCSNC's in the decade prior to 1-9-12.
Bama baseball never reached the pinnacle and Skip slapped the shite out of the gumps like a rented mule and they have not recovered. Own it man.

That's kind of the point. We kept being basically the same program, just a slight step below, for another decade.
That'd be like saying Arkansas football collapsed in 2017 because of Stoerner's fumble.

I personally think the death was losing in the 2006 Super regional to North Carolina. Last good team under Jim Wells. Last good Alabama team period.

Yep - 4 long time major leaguers on that team (Avila, Robertson, LeBlanc, Hunter) and other MLB backups/high minors guys (Matthes, Downs, Salem).......and we get Andrew Miller and then lose on a walk off (right after Avila hits one to take the lead). Was standing out in right field for that.
Alabama baseball is the worst.
