Maybe I'm wrong about that. Maybe it's just the walk from the quarter to the Superdome. I was told to stay in the Quarter if I was going out and to avoid the area around the Superdome at night. Haven't seen it other than driving by on the interstate.

You were given very, very bad advice.

Both are great cities. Both are great for hosting events, especially big football games. The SECCG has been in Atlanta for over 20 years, and it's probably not going anywhere any time soon.

/thread?

Pretty much sums it up

With the SEC looking at a permanent site for Basketball, its safe to assume they are happy with the baseball & football permant sites... maybe NOLA can get softball, or womens basketball.

I do think though NOLA is better for a week tyoe event like superbowl or sugar bowl, but the SECCG is a in and out thing, and Atlanta really is able to handle the transportation as well as lodging issues for a weekend better than most, ( Dallas & Atlanta only equalls )

Not true. They're already looking into playing the baseball tournament at Busch Stadium

Also ...
why would the cards schedule a road trip for a week and allow multiple games to be played on thier ield, can't be good for it.

but mainly ....

Busch holds 46000+

2012 Attendance Figures
Session 1: 5,489
Session 2: 7,145
Session 3: 7,019
Session 4: 6,860
Session 5: 6,798
Session 6: 6,672
Session 7: 9,067
Session 8: 9,243
Session 9: 12,526

I never said I liked the idea. Matter of fact, I hate the idea. But the talks are ongoing.

NO is great. Ought to rotate the game between Atlanta, NO, Jerryworld, STL. There is no good reason for UGA to have the championship game in their back yard every year.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I misinterpreted Wright Thompson's response and my mind started to wander.

The SECCG should stay where it is. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

3rd world murder rates and such

INCREDIBLY STUPID comment. Do you know how many tourists have been murdered while visiting New Orleans during international and national sporting events since 1970 (4th Super Bowl) ?????
Maybe 5. At the most.

FYI, 99.99999 % of the murders happen in the Central City or N.O. East crack house and project areas, NOT near the tourist attractions, downtown, or the French Quarter.

So, the next time you visit New Orleans, is THAT what you're going tell the shuttle or cab driver ???? "Yes, bring me to the Central City gang and drug section please...."

Stupid fricking a-hole.....
