Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are identical to actual Yellow Jackets. They are EVERYWHERE in late August, creating all manner of nuisance for decent folks. Their numbers start to dwindle noticeably by mid October and by Thanksgiving those few who remain alive, and the number is nearly non-existent, are weak and emasculated to the point of pity....almost. No matter the time of year encountering one is mildly annoying but given their timid nature they are easily squashed under foot. Every once in a while one will sneak up and sting you but it is so rare as to be completely un-concerning. Like the real thing their nest isn't much to contend with and the further they get from their nest the weaker they become. 60 miles or so from their nest is about their limit. Beyond that they are about as bothersome as the subterranean vermin they are. Fortunately Sanford Stadium is about 70 miles from Grant Field which means the travel is too taxing on their under developed and fragile bodies to present much more than a minor bump in the road to whatever goals decent folks have. When encountering either kind of yellow jacket there will be some initial but short-lived flailing about on the part of the decent folk under attack but that person soon regains their composure, smacks the frick out of the annoying buzzing bastard, sending it dazed and confused back to earth, allowing decent folks the opportunity to get on with their lives. GO DAWGS! TO HELL WITH GEORGIA TECH!
