No one is making fun of you for losing to Kentucky.

We're making fun of you for being bent over and brutally sodomized by Kentucky. You were poorly prepared physically and mentally, and you have quitters who wouldn't even run down a fricking 234-pound linebacker on an 85-yard pick-six.

Well, Butch, unlike Pruitt, did beat both UGA and Kentucky in year three.

Not having his team any better prepared physically or mentally against Kentucky was a fricking embarrassment.

Agreed, as is still starting Jarrett Gurantano. Apparently Jarrett Gurantano practices football so Fvcking hard it makes that decision on gameday seem reasonable after 3 years of the exact same results.

I agree, not acceptable. At some point, the insanity of him still being the starting quarterback has probably made the team realize this is going to happen no matter what and they've lost hope. Hell just a guess. Still our coaches fault.

While true, the east was more down imo

Didn't he get 9 wins his fourth year? Do you mean his 5th?

Pruitt would have to go 7-3 this year to win as many as Butch did after 3 seasons.

Butch inherited an oline with several NFL players on it and had a QB that didn’t have down syndrome - that alone is a big advantage to Butch. Not to mention they had a S&C program that wasn’t just made up on the fly.

So no, Butch inherited a better situation than Pruitt all things considered. But yeah East was way down too. All of Butch’s classes were busts and deep attrition, no QB on the roster, no oline and no S&C for basically 3 years.

Correct, Which makes it even worse. The first time the team was completely his players he went 4-8, the worst record Tennessee has ever had in a football season. Lets not even mention the starting Hurd over Kamara and losing to Vandy with the SEC east on the line.

And Pruitt will get a year 4 no matter what and more than likely a year 5 unless it’s just a total implosion next year.

I don’t know, but I do know they’ll have a solid offseason and be declared to be back in 2021.

The QB part is 100% true and very crucial but I would be interesting in seeing the 3-4 year recruiting class average Butch had to work with vs Pruitt. I would think it favors Pruitt but maybe not.

No doubt that Pruitt has taken it up a notch in recruiting though.

The average star rating would favor Pruitt till you remove all the guys Butch recruited and ran off. Then you could dig deeper and find any highly rated player was probably a huge bust and didnt even play.

Butch got lucky with Dobbs and same legacy/in state guys during his small peak, the rest was trash. He would just sign 4 star guys no one actually wanted over quality 3 star guys. Similar to how Stoops was recruiting out of Ohio.

Player development was non existent. Derek Barnett was the same player his freshman year as he was his junior year.

The problem with that is, while rated pretty high, the majority of the good recruits Butch had were bust. I think it was a lack of coaching players up that caused the high bust rate but sometimes players just dont live up to their rankings so who knows. Either way, we havent had an even decent QB since Dobbs and in year 3 thats Pruitt's fault.

They screwed up pretty badly by taking Shrout. You had to hit on that QB cycle or land some transfer.

Think Maurer would’ve been solid if not for all the injuries and mental health problems.
