He received very poor coaching at AU under Pelton. When you factor in the lack of physical conditioning Yox was able to do due to the changes by Chizik and TJ it was disaster. I didn't think it was as bad as it was but that was a mess. The offense was "adjusted" by chizik after Clemson and if you notice it got worse and worse each game, each game Chizik got more and more involved.

AU will bounce back but how high I have no idea. I do know with Gus and Lash the offense will improve a lot. We've got several solid QBs on the roster now and Wallace had some moments last season.

Gus malzahn will be fired from AU within 5 years. Enjoy being mediocre to below average.

You're counting 36-0 against Gus? Hell he was working with TT's mess. Do you blame Saban for losing to ULM and State his first year? I'll hang up and listen PAWWWW

I get this is probably your Bama learnin' showing through (or more likely, your lack thereof), so let me spell this out a little bit easier for you:
quote:

Based on what Malzahn has done at Auburn so far, what makes him a "joke of a head coach," exactly?

You see where it says "so far" (I even put it in bold to help you find it)? Basic contextual clues from the direction of the conversation would indicate that they were intended as a qualifier to limit any examples brought to the table to his time as a head coach.

I concede that I was wrong to assume you would be able to understand that without assistance.

So, let me try that again, in language you would understand:

What has that goddamn Barner coach done since ol' Cheesedick got canned by that washed-up, pants-losing cheater and his cronies? Roll Damn Tide.

What? 36-0 was 2008.

2009
2010
2011

These 3 Iron Bowls, Gus was the OC at AU.

AU put up 49 points on offense these games = 16.3 offensive points per for the OC

Dude.

You need to come to grips with how bad a hire Gus is right now. That way when the prophetic FlukerFlakes is once again proven correct here is a couple months, your depression will be minimal. I am only looking out for you barners

So Gus scoring 16 points a game that brought Saban's defensive numbers up to 11 points per game during that 3 year stretch makes him a bad coach?

'09 was when that gimmicky, high school offense that will never work in the SEC led them for 58 straight minutes

'10 was the Camback

'11 Gus wanted to "throw the kitchen sink" at them, but got Chizzed on before he was able to

The Gus hire is not as bad as your making it out to be.

The problem with Chizik IMO was that he set out to be the anti Saban. He tried to instill a laid back environment where players had more control, and it worked for recruits, and on the field in 2010 thanks to Cam and Fairly. But its very hard to develop players in that setting.

Gus isnt going to take that approach, and AU will obviously be much better for it. AU will start winning again.
