Well then I was wrong and it seems like it'll be difficult to convict him.
Hopefully Cam learns from this and never blindly buys a used gun from a private seller again. But with the money he'll be making soon enough he can just buy new for full price

owever, the statute also calls as an affirmative defense that the offender had no knowledge the firearm was subject to such misappropriation.
An affirmative defense requires the person asserting to prove it. He doesn't have to prove it beyond reasonable doubt, however. A preponderance would suffice. As an example, self-defense is an affirmative defense to homicide. The defendant bears the burden of proof that he acted In self-defense.

If he was the 3rd string tight end would cam still be on the team? All coaches want to win. They will all do what they can to win. Saban won't get any heat as long as they win.

What about the Baggie and the Bama drug testing policy? Or about Hootie? Door not open to Hootie Brah?

In short the prosecution would have to basically prove he knew it was stolen, which is not really easy to do unless they would have some sort of direct proof as to how he came into contact with the weapon. Remember, since this is a criminal case, its not CRob's responsibility to prove his innocence, but the State to prove his guilt. They probably do not have that in this situation.

Is there a popular range nearby?

I want Cam and Hootie ready in time for our game. I don't want any excuses from Bama fans.

My SIL bought a 9mm glock in Birmingham.
Later he was stationed on Oahu at Pearl. They got settled and he had to go out of country. Before he left he told my daughter to take their guns by the police station and have the serial numbers run and registered. You have to do that in Hawaii.
She took the guns in and when they ran the glock it came back stolen. It took 3 months to get that mess straight.

If he can't prove he bought it, they aren't going to take his word for it.

Too big to fail, literally.

Apollo...Let's see. He bought it over a year ago, and that night, a year later, he and hootie were at a shooting range practicing? LOL! Riiiiiiiight!
And let me guess, he bought the vehicle and never knew the drugs were in it.
He'll, he probably didn't even realize hootie was with him.
Seriously, I need to see video from said shooting range.

In all seriousness, they will put the right money, into the right pocket and this ordeal will go away like many others have..
